My main concern if JOM and TOM both leave is that Newc gets bashed around for a year or two until we draft/trade in a big-bodied clearance mid (or our current young mids fill out a bit more). Unless the main role for Nash and Finn next year becomes "protect Newc at all costs".

Yeah we’d need Nash, Finn or Worpel to start winning the footy at the source for sure.

I like Duke as the outlet rather than the in and under guy. For longevity and because he’s a good kick

I'd pay a guy rookie wages to just be Newc's body guard. Just run down to the Frankston RSL and there'll be a mountain of blokes looking to crash and bash for their boy.

People laughed at my mentioning Mitch Robinson but he hits hard and puts blocks on and exactly what Newk would need.
Ward has had issues with concussion we need to protect him going forward.
Robinson could offer some protection.

I think if JOM and TOM go, i reckon scrim will move into the midfield
Seriously? Scrim does absolutely nothing that JOM or TOM do. He’s the complete opposite of those two guys.

I can’t see JOM being interested in Freo.

He wants to play with his mate at the Giants, that’s why it’s happening.

GWS are a long way from contending, they've still got plenty to fall also given their best players are mostly on the back-end of their careers...

Freo would surely have to be a very compelling destination. Super young and exciting list that won a final this year, have added Jackson and ideally get a fit and firing Fyfe back.

O'Meara, especially how he played as a high half forward/ mid this year, really would be a great fit for Freo.

I want whatever is best for HFC, but if he's not considering Freo... gee.

The last thing I think when I see Newcombe is that he needs a bodyguard
