All COLA and Judas talk aside....How good are the Hawks. What a TEAM. Hats off to Clarko he's built something really good here.

What if buddy kicked straight, what if roughy did!?!
Rough kicked 4.4, that's the same about of scoring shots as franklin!
It's overlooked hat the hawks should have had the game wrapped by 1/4 time, and I love it!
The swans are like Geelong in 08
Can't kick to save their lives, and it'll cost them come finals

SWANS BETTER PLACED THAN HAWKS.. Swans have more upside come finals.
Oh really?
He's always done that of course, except he used to get pinged for it......It was the same with one of Buddys 2 handed pushes on Gibson, according to BT that was superior body work by Buddy to get Gibbo out of the contest

Well I tend to agree with Grizzlym. I've tried to be fair in my own mind with Franklin. But its very hard when he's high fiving and hugging Sydney players like he's their long term comrade. He was developed at Hawthorn, his football bloodline is Hawthorn, his heart is now it seems NOT Hawthorn. Staying the night at his friends house that has nothing to do with football.Meanwhile, he spent the night at Gibbo's.
Otherwise they would have to own up to the fact that they got it wrongThe afl world is in that "a loss is better than a win" stage of processing Saturday night's result.
Damian Barrett & Garry Lyon headline the latest round summation on the AFL website by noting that the Swans are better placed than us (No shit sherlocks, maybe check the fixturing differentials hey) & have more upside than us come finals time!!!!....Yeah Right!......I don't know how to cut & paste such things so as to post a copy here, perhaps someone with better I.T skills than me can oblige!
Yes that was the only reason we lost the game
Well it was the loss they needed, of course. The afl world is in that "a loss is better than a win" stage of processing Saturday night's result.
Spangher is big and releases other backs to do other jobs , that's the point in my opinion , he can make a blue , but mostly he saves the day. Someone has to go toe to toe with Franklin and just be in front of him or on his toes all the time , and double team him as much as possible. He gets away from his opponents. The key is to make that happen about once a game. He is a human now stand him , I mean stand him like hard footballers do , be his shadow. thats what man on man is , he's just another human. I think Hodgey gave him a karate chop to the bicep the other night , laughable. Yeah Buddy ain't a Buddy anymore.Disagree. Spangher is a lionhearted player who will give his absolute best in every contest, but he tends to over-commit and once you do that against Franklin, you're toast.
We've heard it before right?Well it was the loss they needed, of course.

Yes your correct. I am not knocking Shoe as a backman . I believe he was first and foremost in his past a forward, he has been needed in the back line with Gibbo gone , Lake out and Guerra retired. So yes I think he does a great job as a backman , but with a full list of fellows, he would do well up forward , but yes a bit hard judgement on Shoe , he does things people don't see properly and the results aren't credited to him. A lot of backmen go unsung.Okay - Petrie and Cloke kick 5 against Lake, and for 70% of games played Shoe has played back and the most he has kicked on has been 2 this year. Yes I agree he will prob be a better fwd than back, but give him some credit in that he hasnt been towelled this year. If you listened to Gibbo after the game, in the first half all the backs were rotating onto different players (Yes I think I saw Shoe on Tippett more so than not in the first half) After half time - Shoe stayed on Tipp and Gibson stayed on Franklin - between them there was 1 second half goal (I am pretty sure of - not 100%)
Shoe provided little or no rebound - but especially after half time Tippett was shut out of the game. I remember a game in 2012 towards the end of the year, Shoe took Cloke to the cleaners (only 1 for the day), Tex Walker scored only 1, Shulz scored 1 this year. In as far as stopping his opponent he has done tremendous work. Offensively rebounding he has turned it over, but he has a heap of mates doing that as well.
I think if you asked the AFL coaches if Shoe can play key back - I think you will found a difference of opinion. I would suspect that the word is he has had a very good year stopping his opponents, but he has had some brain fades when rebounding.
YeOuch!Meanwhile Robbo give us a good rap in THE TACKLE today.
Deserves it.
All we hear constantly re Buddy is the following: "footy is a business"; "and we're all still mates".
It's supposed to kind of mitigate his deception.
But last night at the G laid the empty rhetoric bare. The crowd that once loved him, hate him now. And while he might still count Hawthorn players as mates, Buddy has lost something with them no matter what is said - he's ruthlessly sold out Hawthorn, and that's more than a club who employs you. It runs through the fabric of the relationships you have with all the players, the supporters, everyone associated with the club, and, as weird as this sounds, with the institution of the club itself. Just like you can't unboil an egg, you can;t change this.
And, I for one, love it. He sold us out for nothing. Held out. Ensured we got nothing, and collected his big pay day. But what he truly craves, the adulation of the biggest stage, the crowd at the home of footy, is gone. And in the process he's been disowned - to varying degrees - by all those who once loved him at Hawthorn.
He knows it. We all know it.
Last night confirmed it.

There are many "experts " these days with wounds and bad memories of the Mighty Hawks when they played them. Lyon would still hurt from 1988, I'm sure Brad Hardie has a little niggle at Hawthorn on occasion, where as Longdon seems to like them , maybe they showed the Eags what it takes to be premiers.I just watched that.
That is purely Garry Lyon's opinion they have headlined there. Purple said it was the other way for him - more upside for the Hawks. Lyon almost implored opposition clubs to go to work defensively on Suckers.
He at times seems to have a problem with us - begrudgingly gives us a rap when he does.
I was going to read the paper but believe it or not hell froze over.Meanwhile Robbo give us a good rap in THE TACKLE today.
