As a club we have done bugger all to build up this Grand Final (which isn't a bad thing) perhaps we just revel in a low profile build up. Just like the old day???

You don't go hunting by making a lot of noise. It's swan hunting season, and we've picked out a group of 22 of 'em to feed a horde of over 60,000 hungry hawks. It's dinner time!

Atonement, Restitution, Reclamation.

What are you on about you ask?

REDEMPTION

We have waited two years for this mob to be good enough to face us again. We've even given them one of our best players.
ITS TIME... :D

Is Sydney the only team playing on Saturday? AFL360 has had Sydney,Sydney, and Sydney again. Had to change channels, giving me the ))$&& It must be a one man team too..At least we have 18 players..

I'm enjoying my media ban because of stuff just like that. Reactive media ain't gunna get me down.
Usually watch Footy Show - giving that a miss probably too.

We're 12-1 at the MCG, it is a significant advantage to us this week
That's because we play well there, not because of some home ground advantage.

How many teams do we play there that are also at home?

Loaded a bunch of Hawthorn things on a tablet for the downtime during the day at training tomorrow... already had a bunch of photos and things from past years, selected an Isaac Smith pose as my background image. Ripped a few Hawthorn matches to watch, edited the Hawthorn theme song to last for 10 hours (for a laugh) as well as other footy anthems (gotta have one day in september playing at some point). Oh and i forgot, press the wrong button and Shane Crawford's "that's what i'm talking abouttttttt" from 2008 plays.

If someone else from big footy attends training and hears it randomly, it might be my doing :D

Can't wait for tomorrow, bit ehh over the rain that's falling right now.... but last years thursday grand final training was in seriously windy and raining conditions and i toughed it out (in shorts!!!).

Mumford and okeefe the biggest losses for sydney, great ins. Red hot favourites i think we were in 2012 (after we lost)

Revenge and redemption, yes. Hodgey's 250th, yes. Back to back, most definitely. Sticking it up COLA, absolutely. But I still think the greatest reason to win is still to increase our flag count. This week will see us draw even with the Dees if we salute, put us even further in front of the the Cats when they probably thought they were gaining on us there for a while. More than double COLA. And draw ever closer to the only three teams that are above us. These are all teams that had almost 3 decades head start on us too.
Top team of the afl era has a very nice ring to it too...

Sydney are ordinary at the G and we gotta make that count. The pressure to win is all on them and the media is pumping them up big time ala Freo last year. And can you honestly see our boys allowing themselves to go thru the pain of 2012 all over again?
Revenge is ours!
For what it's worth their two other results at the MCG this year were 62 - 51 and 69 - 38. Both wins, but against Richmond and Melbourne respectively.

That Richmond one makes me laugh

Tedd Richards can hold the ball as long as he wants

And these silly flogs think we get an awesome run with the umps?

This would be our 4th premiership after our golden era in the 80s. More than any other club 1990 onwards Brisbane 3, Geelong 3, WCE 3 etc..

That Richmond game was the worst game this season and yet the tigers should have won. And Melbourne......well.

We have the wood over them at the G and I don't think they really like playing us.

We say this a lot but so important to get off to a quick start. Not only do we not want them to get ahead of us early but by having one of our goal scoring bursts in the first quarter it leaves plenty of time for another one later in the game. We'll be lucky to kick 7 unanswered against them again.

Imagine if we start the game like that.......

We started off against Freo in round 3 with 6 unanswered. Coincidentally the week before that we got over the line by under a goal. The only other time this year we've won by under a goal was last week. Ain't nothing like a close win to get you on your toes for the first quarter the following week. And with 2.7 in the first quarter against Swans in round 18 who's to say we can't make that 7.2 (or better!) this time?
