Autopsy Hawks vs The Pusscats

If we could just sneak oogac into the media room beforehand, I'm sure he could make some adjustments to the "theme".

Is that like making adjustments to the footify fanshake ad?

Was pretty bored tonight so fast forwarded through my recording of the game to compile some stats on our centre clearance setups just for people's interest. Few of the percentages at the bottom of the page might be a little off as it's been a long day and I manually counted them up.

The letters at the end stand for Win, Draw and Loss. They may not match up with the official stats but I thought I'd include them anyway to give a bit more insight. I awarded a win for any clearance where we got a clearing kick from congestion, got it out into the hands of our players in general play or won a free kick before it left congestion. A draw for anything that resulted in a ball up before it left the initial congestion. A loss obviously where they got away with it instead.

Some points of interest:
- Very clear that Ceglar is our main ruck
- Rioli only in a handful of centre clearances but always the first of the quarter (except the last once Anderson was on)
- Burgoyne didn't go in there any where near as much as I felt he did
- Hodge was part of 75% of our clearance wins

Steve Motlop won't be playing this week! Apparently he was a naught boy, for some off field issue. Mmm, I wonder what that issue was?

"Hope this is the wake up call he needs. But worrying we seem to have off field issues cropping up with our young guys. Bundy, Hartman, now Mots."

Interesting comments on the rats forum. Looks like some want him gone,gone,goneo_O

I still remember that Burgoyne vs draft picks thread that had someone complaining he wasn't worth it.

Haven't seen that for a while though and I don't think it will ever come up again. Gee he is brilliant player that rarely is seen on the footy ground. That hardness, team desperation, matched equally by he smooth and sublime skills he has... I wish he could play for many many years to come.

Fully deserves the Number 9 jumper. I believe Crawf would be happy with that

Good luck rebuilding your team from the ground up, cats fans. Don't know if I'd be taking that up if I was Danger. They're sinking quickly into a mire of mediocrity.

All I could think as I watched the Cats claw into Mitchell, especially with the cheap after the ball had gone shots from Selwood and others, especially in that 1st quarter and then we saw what The Sniper did later in the match to Mitchell, is, how much the Cats really miss Cameron Ling. They had nobody in the current crop of just barely afl standard mugs to go with and stop Mitchell.

Was Burgoyne specifically matched up on Cockatoo? He seemed to nail him about 3 times that I saw, almost as if quite a deliberate ploy of putting a much more seasoned player on him to welcome him to high-pressure footy. There was a lot of salivating going on about how he would go, and what we actually saw was a bit more deer-in-headlights. Hope he can do more in future games, it's always good seeing talented young players come along, but gee, bit of a wake up call!

Lol...

Geelong livewire Steven Motlop won't play in Sunday's crunch clash with Fremantle because he was caught drinking at a local football game at Colac on Good Friday.

The Cats weren't aware of the indiscretion until several players heard their Hawthorn opponents sledging Motlop about it during their Easter Monday blockbuster at the MCG.

Kind of sad watching this great talent going to waste though - just imagine if he could stay off the piss, he'd do two freakish things per game instead of one.

So Hodgey had the spies out

Hawks sledging/Motlop drinking now going to be blamed for all of Cats woes on and off the field....NO...Cats your team just ain't good enough....wait till Fremantle hand their furry butts on a plate back to them..the'y'll be zip and 2 .....and who will they blame then...maybe they should start with that sooky coach of theirs...
