Autopsy Hawks vs The Pusscats

I think that with Frawley, we'll see the benefit of his recruitment in two stages. The second stage, and most important, is when he's settled into our system, has developed confidence in his teammates and his place among them, and his decision making and disposal improves accordingly. That's when he'll not just recapture but exceed his AA form, and be ready to succeed Lake as no 1 KPD.

The first stage was evident today, and that is the immediate impact he has on the defensive unit, particularly Gibbo. Gibson was freed from having to mind a gorilla, and with this freedom provided a lot of dash out of the back line, something he's always done but we will now see a lot more of. There were even a few intercept marks he took which he would have spoiled to the boundary previously. With the added balance Frawley brings to the team, I already think that we were a 2-3 goal better side defensively today than if we'd been without him; by the end of the year, we could be 5-6 goals better defensively.

Great summary. Frawley today showed he has real class. He'll be a very significant part of the team for quite a few years.

I thought Doc got better as the game went on, considering he didn't get much game time at the end of the NAB challenge not surprised it took some time to get going but gee I think he really wants to be Goo.

Burgers is the Iron fist in the Silk glove we are very fortunate to see him Hodge and Mitchell in the same team, and the impact those three have on the rest of the team at training and with their leadership is becoming more apparent every day they are as much a part of the great culture we have now as Clarko I feel and I am very proud to be a supporter of this great club

Well done today lads, always good to see the cats get destroyed, we don't see it enough. Loved every minute of it. But fair dinkum, reckon you could do something about that annoying ten year old screaming over the PA? Reminded me of an annoying kid at a wedding stealing the mic with the parents doing nothing about it.

Apart from that, strong win. It's hard not be jealous when you've got superstars in every area of the ground;)

Does anyone know if it's possible for Frawley to play in more wins this year than he has in his whole career so far?
For melbourne he's played in 34 wins 1 draw and 104 losses.
For hawthorn he played in 1 win

Great result but wasn't perfect by any stretch
Lewis, Gibbo and Poppy were my best on ground.
Also of the top of my head, great games for Suckling, Breust, Lake, Hodge, Burgoyne and Duryea
Haley will also stuggle to find a place if McEvoy and Cegs continue from where they left off today

Goalkicking was abysmal. Should have won by 80+ but cest la vie. Hope it as just a one off

What happened to Shiels? Hope he's ok.

Guessing Birch is back next week so unless Shiels is injured, I can't see who drops out. Both Suckling and Duryea were good
Maybe Jedi and put Doc sub

Frawley got a pass mark for mine. Showed enough to suggest he will be good for us

Frawley will be fine. He was probably so shocked to have so much time and space on a couple of occasions that he didn't know what to do.

Gunston and Rough played great "decoy" roles today. Taylor was a non factor as was Lonergan.

The best games Rioli, Hodge and Rough have played against Geelong for a long time.

Next week could he ugly for the drug cheats if we show up with the same intent.

Their autopsy thread was a lot more humble in defeat tbh.
I haven't read that yet. I will though. And perhaps the people willing to perform the autopsy are the true supporters anyway.

Good to think that we have got over that hump that once was Geelong is now over. I wonder how much longer before they demand their home games be played at Simmonds Stadium.

Wonder is we could swing a trade for Harry Taylor. He switching with Gunston back to forward and visa versa would be a good mix for Hawthorn.

Good to see Matthew Stokes continues to abide by his philosophy of playing "bruise free football". Thankfully our Mat Suckling has started to put the body on the line and finds he can survive.

First winning game from the Hawks that I've had the pleasure of being at - sublime doesn't describe it

Thought it was Going to get a bit willing in N22 when some cats supporters didn't like the harsh words that were exchanged after another free kick to the serial ducker had some hawk supporters being quite colourful in their description of him

Great start to the season, let's hope that continues next week

Beautiful start to the season, and a top performance by the boys. So much satisfaction to see the Hawks destroy them like that, was not expecting such a demolition.

I actually believe we will improve this year, long way to go, but loving what I'm seeing so far.

GO THE MIGHTY HAWKS!

Just having a laugh at all the Cats fans on the main board whingeing about that tackle at the end. They are calling Duryea and Burgoyne all sorts of things. I've admired the Geelong Football Club over the years ... but some of their supporters are just dead set tossers.

Im pretty sure Selwood had a massive whinge about it to the umpires as the siren went.

I can't even contain my arrogance anymore, we are so bloody good I can't even handle it. I'm going to look back at this in 10 years and wonder why I didn't appreciate it more...
It is not arrogance, just pure confidence. We are in great shape and it is pretty friggen obvious.

The Cegs/BB display was the best I have seen from our rucks since Salmon.

Burgoyne is THE most complete footballer I have seen. Judd, Mathews, Carey - Burger has em all covered as he does it all.

Is this a philosophy he has quoted or one made up by your self? We were pathetic today and were obviously beaten by a way better team i don't think Stokes was the worst on the ground, 9cp and 25 in total.80% eff. I just find it random to pick Stokes out of a hat and quote a something I have never heard him say or write. IMO there were a few more passengers in that side than just Him.

The word on the street (and by street I mean the Cats board) is that Duryea should be rubbed out for the Bartel incident and that Mitch apparently hit Johnson in the face. Obviously the Bartel thing was an accident so even the most biased Cats supporter should understand that. I can't even remember Mitchell hitting the angry one. When did the alleged incident occur and what happened?
