We'll let the mods on the main board deal with the naming of players.

Anybody who speculates on who the players are, until it's released from the football club, will have their post deleted immediately.

And as nobody seemed to heed my warning that opposition supporters not post in this thread I'm just going to hand pick the negative comments and delete them.

Saints supporters are entitled to a place where WE can discuss the issue ourselves.

The cheap shots are seemingly encouraged on the main board so that's where you should go.

This is fair enough, but this seems the only logical place to discuss it, given how unbelievably poor the thread on the main board is.

And the cheap shots to Collingwood supporters here are fine

So they're safe on both grounds. She's 16 so it's legal.

And even if they have somewhat of a 'position of trust' or whatever it is, I think they have more than enough reasonable ground to think she was over 18,

My understanding is that the age of consent is 16.
If between 16 and under 18, prostitution and pornography is illegal, and there is also a law prohibiting a person in a position of authority ( guardian , priest, teacher ) to have sex with them.
I think it would be stretching things a bit to claim that a player who was a participant in a footy clinic, probably under supervision by the school ( unless they had special qualifications to care for children ) for a couple of hours, was in a position of authority a month or more later.

Posted this on the main board:

I'm about to lose some man points here but...

Cassie Van Den Dungen made a splash during Australia's Next Top Model when it was revealed that she was engaged to her long term boyfriend. She was 16. He was 25.

I think people are taking the fact that this is St.Kilda and running with it. The only stupid thing these guys did was get her pregnant. Then again if the father takes responsibility and grows up maybe it wasn't all for naught. Hopefully she learned a lesson too.

On a slightly different topic;

Is it just me or is the football media becoming more and more like the tabloids rather than a factual, repoting news stream?

I'm all for journos writing opinion pieces and commenting on the games but it feels like the media almost write the stories themselves. Hutchy wrote 2 articles during the off season, talking about how much pressure Mark Harvey was under and that by signing McPhee he had hung himself. Even after their start to the season Hutchy still says they aren't serious and will barely make finals if at all.

He WANTS them to fail so that he can point back at his articles and say "I told you so!" More and more this is going on.

If Barry Hall had've done what he did last week while he was playing for the Swans the media would've put the noose around him. This year he is the revived saviour. The "missing link" for the fairytale Dogs. No way they would want him to look bad.

So what if the players had sex with a girl. If she was the girlfriend of one of them, but still 16 and pregnant, would this be a major story? They picked up a random groupie and had sex. FFS it's not that big a deal!

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Get back to the footy people! All you are doing is giving media outlets a reason to pay Hutchy and his ilk to hide in peoples bins and report on the garbage they find :thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Interesting that Punter mentioned the NSW pollie.
The guy was middle aged married with kids. He went out to some sort of homo fun club.
OK he resigned because he's a politician, but the public backlash really wasn't much, and some in the media were claiming that it was sad that our society was such that he'd had to keep that part of his life secret.

But hey it's a much bigger scandal if a 21 year old single boy has unprotected sex with a 16 year old girl.

If this hasn't been said yet I've just heard the two involved are Sammy Gilbert and Armo I'm not jumping to conclusions but this is what I've heard also both there facebooks were deleted today apparently.

Hey Sainter, how the hell do you delete a post from an Adelaide supporter at post 81 and red card, yet you find the above post perfectly acceptable from one of your moronic saints mates.
The morals of your players obviously spreads to its supporters aswell.

Didn't John Elliot organise a group rape party for the Carton players in a brothel?

^^^ Oh and also - if they're going to blame football players for rooting 17-19 year old girls who chase them around the country after meeting them at football clinics, well, frankly, they'll have to ban football clinics or girls or the sport altogether.

MEDIA BEAT UP.

ffs

Damn straight. The old guy tells it as it should be in this clip 0:45 to 1:15.

Ask someone who's about to shuffle off this mortal coil whats right and wrong and it's perspective..

And if the exodus from the main thread merely brings the same sort of dribble, where would this thread then degrade to?

A negative comment by a Collingwood supporter about the club is going to be met with more in kind comments merely because of the fact that this year the two sides have been at each others throats over several issues and accusations. Since this is also the Saints forum and opposition fans were warned beforehand to behave, you'd have to be plenty stupid to come on here to continue that trend.

Take boora's last comment for instance. Tit for tat in law (which is ambiguous at the best of time) and a response that is nothing but inflammatory to the situation and not constructive at all to the conversation at hand. How will that then be responded to? More hate towards Collingwood supporters because the need to voice insults was just that important it seems.

We (St kilda supporters) have an inherent right here to be a bit of an arrogant tosspot here, because by and large we love this club and have for 10, 20... years for some schmuck from some other mob to then come in with lies and slander based on half truths and populist opinion. Collingwood supporters then in this instance don't count yourself who have handled themselves properly, but then people like boora, who have not.

North supporters on the saints forum, please turn up at a game and support your side before you jump on here and question the statement that I make.

Don't think C or T was having a go at you tim.
Its just that every time the two are mentioned, that post disappears into a puff of moderation.

Those two are the players commonly connected to the topic though.

Thanks Saints September for clearing up, i am not having a go at you tim saints. Regards

I'm not sure why the club doesn't just release the names, it is going to come out anyway, St Kilda would be better off coming out on the front foot, the quicker it's out there the less drama I would have thought

AFL players banned from having sex, going out, drinking, talking to women and having a life. All must be under house arrest when not at their club....

That will be the next headline...Mark Webber was right....F#@*in Nanny State.
Note to all girls who want to engage in sex, use protection, go on the pill and avoid becoming a groupie.
