Buddy being called holding the ball despite Pettracca clearly being in the protected zone already when play on was called, Gulden being given no time for a holding the ball decision that I think led to a Melbourne goal, and then minutes later a Melbourne player in Melbourne's defensive 50 being given much more time than Gulden got to get rid of the ball before he was tackled and that was just a ball up.

yeah I didn't think the umpires were great. Melb had some cheapies but they didn't result in blatant free goals. Sydney's goals were top of the goal square stuff. I mean the buddy flop resulted in a goal when the ball was in our forward line. I don't remember 1 goal that we kicked where the umpires literally gave us a goal.
I think Sydney deserved to win but if they didn't pay the Buddy nonsense then there's a fair chance swans don't win. it was a massive turning point. we were up by 16 points with the ball in our forward line. 10 seconds later, 10 points the difference, momentum swings 180 degrees, and hope and belief returns back to Sydney. All based off an incorrect call. Melb need to be better but so do the umpires.

correct. May got awarded for flopping moments after. Did the May dive result in a free kick up the field and a 50m and a goal and a momentum swing? no.
You can't compare a free kick to a backman to a free kick to a forward plus a 50m and a goal.

I think Geelong and or Collingwood on the MCG are Sydney’s biggest threat.
Everyone was overrating Melbourne. Granted they had a good win against a piss poor Brisbane, but since QB they really have been rather average. I believe the winner of todays game will meet Sydney in the Grand Final.

Rampe doesn't affect the handball, easy goal. Fox actually smothered Melksham first try when it looked like he dropped it.

they're defenders. that's their job. I saw this 100 times last night. melksham gives the handball back to spargo and he runs into an open goal.

Interesting that heeney, Warner and franklin were all well down. Logan had 0 impact and still managed a 4 goal win against Melbourne at the G

because we were justifiably heavy favourites going in and it was looking like another cruise win until the umpires got involved. Sydney played well but whoever makes the grand final on the melb/geel/coll side of the draw would be licking their lips if they got to play Sydney in a granny.
