Think that is his brother.

It has got to the stage where Hocking and Gil should take a leaf out of George Costanza's play book and just do the complete opposite of what they think they should do.

To be fair, in my lifetime of following footy (from around 1986 onwards) just about every AFL commissioner has been accused of ruining the game and the league.

Its probably a harder job than being Prime Minister, in many respects
Have to admit, Gil has started to win me over with that country footy rescue package.

Grassroots footy should be the bread and butter demographic, and for too long, the AFL has ignored it, leading to several club mergers and folding up the bush.

If this saves any more clubs from going under, and getting more kids playing footy (or netball in many instances) than bravo Gil.

Did Aph at least say thank you?

Problem with the Ravens is all the decisions were probably run by Mark, they can sack as many people they like but Mark is still going to be there. Next year we should change the How Crow Can You Go thread to How Low Can You Go.

Know a former Crows player who spoke very highly of Camporeale. Mind you, this was before the whole Walsh passing. From memory, Camporeale was instrumental in guiding the playing group through those tough times.

As said before, until Ricciuto is gone, little will change for that club. Good!

Thats great. Still dont want him at Carlton. He's more than welcome to **** off back to * though

I really do wonder what the hell went on at this notorious camp. Clearly plenty of people know details, but nobody is saying boo.

From what I can gather or guess:

- there was some Indigenous element that was handled very poorly/insensitively
- players were perhaps isolated from the rest of the world (no phones, contact with family, or similar) with the intent to galvanise them as a group, but it perhaps backfired and wound up with players resented the club
- did they try to do "honest, warts and all" feedback to one-another that got way out of hand and too personal?

I have no idea but I'm interested - not to laugh and point at the Crows, but it just seems fascinating that it could be such a **** up and something that was meant to strengthen the team and bond them together has instead done psychological damage and ruined relationships.

What exactly has Scott Camporeale done?

Premiership player, best and fairest, life member of the club and hall of fame member.

He left the club in 2006 because he’d had enough of playing under Denis Pagan. I’d had enough of Pagan by that stage but I couldn’t swap teams. The club gave Pagan his marching orders in 2007. Campo was ahead of his time.

Campo is a champion of the club. He kept me entertained as a player for 11 seasons with his skill and never say die attitude.

Does that make him a good coach though?

He. went. to. them.

He is forever tainted. He knew what he was doing and what it meant when he signed with them. I could forgive any other club but not them. And it had nothing to do with Pagan. He wanted a longer contract, three years instead of the two we offered. And he only ended up playing two seasons anyways. And we got nothing back for him.

Just had to go to *

Nup. **** him. Dont want him to ever darken our doorstep again.

So what did think of him before he went to them?

A Carlton supporter on a Carlton forum. Sorry I didn't realise personal introductions were required before addressing your good self. My name is jack. I'm 35 and wondering how someone's opinion of a person 14 years ago is relevant to their current one.
I suggest if you want to involve yourself in the discussion then you address my original comment.

Why? I'm not saying you can't have that opinion. Butalitops' opinion was pretty clear from the post you were replying to though. I was simply pointing out how he felt prior to Camporeale preferring Essendon over Carlton is irrelevant to how he felt after.

I wasn't looking to be a smart arse or for an argument as there's way too much of that shit here atm. Lovely to meet you and hopefully now I can just quote you in future without introductions (slight smart arse bit there).

It wasn’t a trick question. My opinion was that I was disappointed he had left Carlton. I didn’t like that he was playing at another club but his career finished and he’s a Carlton man as far as I’m concerned.

My friend, we are just going to have to agree to disagree. He is dead to me and no one will ever be able to talk me into liking him again. Some crimes are too heinous and what he did was unforgivable.
