So you reckon they are going to kick off in the covid wards, comparing a covid ward against a drug fuelled idiot in ED is nowhere near the same.

In the covid wards they will be door watches unless someone loses it, nobody from i can remember has done a runner from any of our hotel quarantine sites that i can remember, i'm happy to be shown otherwise.

they have done runners for smoke breaks, one a kfc run, another to hook up with someone. one guy even broke into HQ to bring his mate stuff.

one woman ended up in court over this shit (sovereign citizen nutter)

ive also heard stories of rooms being wrecked and security having to put up with a lot of shit

its not a passive gig

Yes, because the mask stops transmission outside, but they balance needing to open restaurants/bars for eating.

You don't need to be not wearing a mask outside.

Bullshit it stops transmission outside if you are socially distanced.

Absolute and utter bullshit. I have supported this government through this. Until right now. Their messaging is all over the place, inconsistent and without any scientific basis whatsoever. They were asked three times today what the evidence is and they simply could not provide it.

If they genuinely believed this crap then they wouldn't allow our cafes and restaurants to trade. If they are prepared to let 50 people sit inside without masks and have coffee, QR codes or otherwise there is no reason to force mask wearing outside. This is a law for the sake of driving compliance. And whilst I am politically aligned to Labor I refuse to support any rule, implemented by any Party that is designed for the specific purpose to drive compliance yet is not supported by data.

A good walk is one of the joys of life but given I sweat a bit I am not going to be uncomfortable because the Government decides that they want to make a point. I will be going to the park on the weekend. I will be socially distanced but I will not be wearing a mask. The police are welcome to find me and fine me. I simply do not care what this government (that I voted for) says anymore. When they provide evidence that a walk in the park by myself can result in transmission of disease because I do not have my face covered I will revisit my position.

I will continue to wear masks in all indoor settings as common sense dictates.

Any rule that is superfluous to what is required is unnecessary and immoral.

You don't need to be not wearing a condom when not having sex, but it's an extra prevention for unexpected pregnancies to passers by in the streets if you do.

Is covid only transmissible by sex?

I think you’ll be ok.
Most of this week When I’ve been out walking and no one is within miles, I’ve slipped the mask off.
If I see someone approaching I put it on. It’s kind of courteous.

I think masks, if anything remind people times are not normal and keep your distance.

Yep, that's generally my approach mate. I will absolutely have it on if near anybody.

And that is what the rule should be. If you can't social distance you must wear a mask. If they made it 5 or 10 metres to make it appear safer fair enough.

The problem is most people on their own because it is so strict will ignore it. Not a great start for a rule
Then there will be people who may like to go for a walk or run but don't want to wear a mask but also don't want to break the law so will then stay inside

This is one rule that has always been over the top.

So those cases today haven't been linked. Hmmmmm.

I expect we will be back in full lockdown on Tuesday.

the hubby has tested positive now.

also confirmed the only reason he and the wife were tested was because it was a requirement from his employer

ffs

They travelled to QLD as they were moving there due to him getting a job there, and there are suggestions they were also moving house. Whilst QLD have announced they didn't have an entry permit I'm not sure they've been a stupid as some have declared. If they'd applied for a permit prior to us being locked down there's every chance they'd have got it.

I would be interested to hear how many cases have been contracted over the past year due to the virus being spread outdoors

Officially it’s less than the amount of times Dan Andrew’s has fallen down the stairs

Well if they truly believed that they should have extended lockdown.

I have to mask up in the park by myself but can happily sit in a cafe, sans mask with 50 others yelling over each other to have a conversation.

Do you not see how ridiculous this is?

We were having this discussion yesterday even at work you’re supposed to wear a mask yet at breaks we sit down without a mask to eat together…

Due to our office setup I spend more time without a mask than with it, just put it on if people come in to my office, I go to another office or if people come to the door.

Thankfully for me my colleagues are happy to remove their masks to speak to me so I can actually understand them.

Or
as I have heard. They are saying that after being found positive and seen the level of anger in Caloundra atm.

They should just come out and show the scientific data regarding mask wearing when outside.

Then idiots like me would stop questioning it.

Final word from Professor Sutton…

It is unclear whether, in all that time, the wearing of masks outdoors prevented the spread of a single COVID case. Victorian Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton cannot say how many of the state’s 20,000 cases were transmitted outside or, indeed, if any were.

"We have got very strong suspicions that the vast majority of our transmission has been within households and within workplaces," he said. "We don’t have many examples of outdoor transmission and where it has been picked up, where there have been people in contact outdoors, they have also been in contact indoors."

Well that's entirely possible too. I'd have thought in the current climate you'd have all your i's dotted and t's crossed.

That is their main purpose. With a bit of luck they might even reduce colds and flu a bit, even if there’s no covid around.
