Funny how the LNP fans in here want to ignore the bloke who admitted to feeling sick for almost a week and swanned around infecting others instead of getting tested. During a pandemic.

I thought they were big on personal responsibility.

If its possible I would deport him. I am sick of pendering to these clowns. No more 'education' do wtf you are told or pay the price.

The most incompetent, useless Govt in Australia strikes again. You get the Govt you deserve and the morons who voted them in can suck it up.

The rest of us can look on you with utter disgust and contempt. Its what you deserve. Even now you are on here defending these clowns. God you are utterly pathetic.

You're talking about the Feds and the vaccine roll out yeah?

Agreed. Time for Albo to step up with a vote of no confidence.

Had he known he’s been to an exposure site then maybe he’d have acted sooner? We’ll never know but he did go to Epping North Woolies as well.

Btw they still haven’t identified the missing link, given they’re claiming this is spreading in a day, there must be dozens of undiagnosed cases between the bloke who brought it in from SA and case 5 this time around as it was about 2 weeks between them entering Victorian quarantine and this bloke getting infected..

100% agree - Morrison has to go

if i tell you "woolies on epping road" and my receipt says "epping woolies" what do you think google maps is going to show you when you enter epping woolies? a woolies on epping road

and as someone else is posting, there is no evidence the new case even went to that woolies at the time of the infected person

It would show you more than one, so you ask which woolies.

As to the idea it's not linked to one of the exposure sites from Woolert case, I'm finding it hard to believe that there is no link in some way as they keep saying they are linked to the Woolert case. Someone is not telling the whole truth here on where they have been or who they have been around.

It has been a mantra from all levels of government and health officials for over a year now, and it’s been entirely consistent- if you have symptoms, however mild, get tested and isolate until you produce a negative.

The last Vic lockdown was littered with selfish pricks who weren’t at home when called on after testing positive, or went to Orbost pubs and baitshops from Melbourne whist awaiting results, or drove across town to their favourite McDonalds...

It’s really not hard to do the right thing here.

it doesnt - how do you think i found it on epping road? (i had to zoom out to find epping north)

Hotel quarantine was good for a temporary fix at the start of the pandemic while the Federal Government ensures the federal quarantine facilities are up to purpose. But quarantine isn’t a state responsibility, and as things have worn on it’s become clear that hotels aren’t the long-term answer. Combined with the bungled federal vaccine rollout and the inability still to repatriate stranded Australians, it’s pretty clear the Federal Government have shirked their responsibilities and put these onto the states.

Maybe the Victorian Government could have done better, and they of course should be scrutinised, although both of these two major outbreaks to date seem like extraordinarily bad luck comes into play (Sydney’s Avalon cluster and the barbecue shopper both remain unexplained and it’s fortunate neither came to more). But I don’t see how Morrison and the Federal Government can just continue to skate along, responsible for nothing, without people thinking there needs to be some major questions here.

Who is the journalist who has spent the whole press conference whining in the background?
She was annoying. Although pretty funny when she was getting upset at other journos for getting a question before her

this is what epping locals said on radio. its one of those local quirks you will always get (remember this is a northern suburbs tracing team, so its not like they are from Franga either)
Absolutely a local quirk, but considering there are two Woolies in Sunbury, Bundoora, Ferntree Gully, South Morang and probably several others, you'd hope the contact tracing teams across the city are alert to this sort of mistake going forward (gee there are a lot of Woolies stores now that I think about it).

Put Woolworths into Google for Epping gives you multiple choices, not hard at all, I just managed and I'm not a contract tracer.
One of the more bizarre ditches Ned has chosen to die in this one.

i did put it in, and it zoomed in on the shopping centre one

the contract tracers are now local, are using Safesforce, and are numbered in the thousands. shit bagging them for not doing a triple check on every address to make sure there is no possible duplicate is just stupid, and it an attempt to blame some poor sod for something even Epping locals say is an understandable mix up.

I know you're frustrated, but blaming this on the tracer when we dont even know if the contact happened at that site is unfair to them, and an unrealistic expectation.

If you want perfect tracing, we need to models used in Singapore/Taiwan/Korea, which have major privacy issues (mainly because it gives the govt all of your phone data)

dont disagree, and its a messy one because of how they are marked

Do me a favour either
tell labor to fu** off out of power and hand that over to LNP since they are willing to do the job of state run quarantine or

just admit you suck and are worthless at your managing hotel quarantine and want daddy fed to step in
