In 99% of occassions OOC players go for unders which is probably why the PSD is not required

Greenwood will go for a third you would think

It's not even just that he's uncontracted though, it's that the club that he wants to go has PSD #1. At least with Keath you've got the nuclear option of 'well we'll just send him to the draft and nobody gets anything'. With Greenwood you don't even have that. Sending him to the draft would be a great result for the Suns.

I'm actually not disagreeing with you but history shows that It is never used but history also shows that OOC players go for unders aswell

Most would say a deal will be done and it will be unders

Yeah I agree. I'm just mystified that this deal of all deals is the one that the Crows have decided to play hardball on.

Looking at a week of this trade period

Every club seems to be playing hardball

On SM-G965F using BigFooty.com mobile app

Yeah but every other club isn't dealing with an uncontracted player asking for a trade to the bottom side. There's just absolutely zero bargaining power. It's actually a better result for the Suns if they send him to the draft.

It's strange, but I think there's an element of trying to get more out of us since the AFL 'gifted' us some picks. The purpose of those picks is to help solidify a young struggling club, not to allow a faltering Crows to bend us over.

I don't understand how this is even a negotiation. The Suns have pick 1 in the PSD. Greenwood is uncontracted. He may as well be a free agent. Any trade the Suns offer for him at all rather than just taking him for free is entirely out of the goodness of their hearts. And the Crows have the balls to ask for more?

There's nothing wrong with playing hardball, but maybe try to restrict it to situations where you have the tiniest bit of bargaining power. If the Suns had any balls they'd just walk away now and refuse to entertain any future talks.
Yes they can but next time there is a trade between the 2 clubs then there is no good will and it will be a sh1tfight. That is exactly why clubs DON'T go down that path.

Imagine next year if the crows happen to finish below GC and finish say 2nd bottom (unlikely but not impossible). Imagine the wailing and moaning and complainibg if the crows walked lukosius to the psd.

As i said it just won't play out like that with greenwood because it ruins any trading relationship going forward

Which is all fine, but the Suns did make a reasonable opening offer to the Crows despite not needing to, and the Crows countered by asking for pick 20 for a 27 year old mid who spent half the year in the SANFL. The Suns aren't the ones who are being unreasonable here.
It will play out

Wells asked for two top 10 picks for Kelly but took much less

Of course you are going to ask for more than what you will actually get

Are you seriously saying the crows shouldn't have done that or wells shouldn't have either with Kelly

If Greenwood went in the PSD draft, GC would want to hope Adelaide don't finish bottom next year.
One of the thing GCS learn is don't think too far ahead like Adelaide. Not yet make the finals pyke laugh at GCS and later resigned this year . Not yet win the flag in 2017 and think they will win one in 2018 and 2019, also Gibbs trade and thinking Carlton will finish last or second last on the ladder . It all backfire.

Will get done for an early 3rd IMO. Hopefully sooner rather than later
I would agree with this

As with all the other trades atm that are being negotiated and there are plenty

Clubs I think are hoping for other cards to fall just in case more currency becomes available in ways of players or picks so there is no need to rush into anything

Like every year the complaint is the length if the trade period by fans because nothing happens in the first week apart from one or two trades

Pyke laughing at GCS, please  are you all there?

You’re absolutely right; GC don’t think too far ahead at all.

It is visible for all to see just how blinkered they are as a club - from their list management decisions, like delisting Lyons and Barlow when your midfield was as bad as any in history, or gunning for Riewoldt/Franklin/Tippett but ending up with Karmichael/Brennan/Fraser/Brown/Bock/Krakouer/Rischitelli.. and the biggest mercenary of the lot, GAJ :drunk:

Or trading history (see Bris/WC/Freo trades) :drunk:

Or their inability to create any kind of culture up there and their inability to just be competitive at all.

Speaking of backfire, your whole club is like the backfiring of a beat up old car; loud and obnoxious. Sometimes a flame can be seen when a car backfires, but mostly you will only hear a loud popping noise (your season every year), followed by loss of power and forward motion (your future).
