Traded Hugh Greenwood [traded to Gold Coast for 2020 3rd, 2020 4th]

My thinking would be that Crows don't want a quick resolution to the trade just in case the new coach says lets try and get Lukocious this year and they can use Greenwood in any negotiation.

Pyke laughing at GCS, please  are you all there?

You’re absolutely right; GC don’t think too far ahead at all.

It is visible for all to see just how blinkered they are as a club - from their list management decisions, like delisting Lyons and Barlow when your midfield was as bad as any in history, or gunning for Riewoldt/Franklin/Tippett but ending up with Karmichael/Brennan/Fraser/Brown/Bock/Krakouer/Rischitelli.. and the biggest mercenary of the lot, GAJ :drunk:

Or trading history (see Bris/WC/Freo trades) :drunk:

Or their inability to create any kind of culture up there and their inability to just be competitive at all.

Speaking of backfire, your whole club is like the backfiring of a beat up old car; loud and obnoxious. Sometimes a flame can be seen when a car backfires, but mostly you will only hear a loud popping noise (your season every year), followed by loss of power and forward motion (your future).
Are you actually upset with Suns or are you in fact just frustrated with Crows current situation? I am afraid next 3+ years will be hard for you.

I think crows are angry and frustrated due to the afl giving the GC extra picks. On top of that BS of Melbourne club seaming to have almost unlimited access to NGA which now seams the next years draft be completely compromised. That said last year that there will be no more uncompromised drafts, then chanced there minds the very next year.

It’s unfortunate that we now have to rebuild with all this going on. We feel that the AFL Is screwing us over again and demanding much more from anyone that wants our players. A early third round pick would be value

Cry me a river sunshine FFS

West Coast finished last and Richmond 2nd last in 2010 when the 2 expansion teams were introduced and draft picks were given to them but nobody complained and everybody just went about their work.
Richmond's 1st 2 picks were 6 + 30
eagles 4+29

regarding Greenwood his value would be roughly #40-#45 but GC dont have a selection thats suitable so next years 3rd rounder would be suitable
Move on and dont worry about Nickle & Dime trades

Adelaide will take whatever GC decide to fling them because everyone knows the alternative.
Yes, it’s a shit sandwich for Adelaide but what choice do they have.
Young Reid to assume his annual October position ... business as usual.
Or we offer Greenwood a new deal if we can't get value for him.

His preference was to stay but with a longer contract.

He may have preferred to stay originally but young Reid obviously didn’t rate him enough to offer him the new deal.
How pathetically incompetent would young Reid look now to pull his pants down and offer him the originally requested new deal.
The horse has bolted and found a new home, unfortunately for young Reid, the new home just happens to have the ability to do as it pleases in this case.
The amazing twist is just how young Reid managed to survive the review considering his recent performances.
Perhaps re signing Mackay saved him.

Young Reid : Hugh we have decided to give you the contract you asked for initially $450k x 4 years was it
Hugh Greenwood: Sorry 'Young Reid' Its now 5 years at $800k if you want me to stay as i have already bought a surf board

Wonder if Adelaide will up what they were offering and keep him if a fair trade can't be worked out.
Him and keath both wanted to stay but wanted an extra year

Happy for Adelaide to do that. As much I like Greenwood he is not the type of players that going to move GCS up the ladder.

He is clearly a player you would take at the right price

That price is what needs to be established

Early third for mine like keath is a mid second

Its really not hard

Difficult to imagine the mental gymnastics required to have GC negotiating with themselves over what they feel like flinging Adelaide for a player they can take for free ... 🤪

Yes but that happens every year who did Carlton trade in when they were spooners or GC when they were spooners when they could just go PSD?

The facts are players who are OOC tend to go for unders due to this threat every year for the past how many years

Don't think GC will take him in PSD, but if Adelaide force GCS to then is different story.

Adelaide won't forcec anyone into anything an early third is a good deal for GC and Adelaide will most likely accept

If he isn't worth a third he wouldn't even be worth taking

A 5th rounder is a good deal for Adelaide and Adelaide will accept it if that’s what GC decide to fling them.
A shit sandwich is a decent meal to a starving man ...

Just wondering why Carlton gave us pick 13 for mcgovern when they had 1st pick in the PSD

Is this situation any different

For starters, McGovern was contracted.

Secondly, Carlton didn’t give Adelaide pick 13 for McGovern.

Thirdly, this is the Greenwood thread.

Finally, is your surname Reid ?
