I like the Irish's chances here. Just need to see Roach off early.

I'm pretty sure it was drawn up with Group A having teams 1,4,5,8,9,12,13 and Group B 2,3,6,7,10,11,14...but this was done quite a while ago, when Kenya and Zimbabwe were both ranked above Ireland
Drawn up today, it would be
Group A: Australia, South Africa, England, Bangladesh, West Indies, Netherlands, Kenya
Group B: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, New Zealand, Ireland, Zimbabwe, Canada
Actually, it looks like it was 1,3,5,7,9,11,13 for Group A and 2,4,6,8,10,12,14 for Group B. If you were just looking at the rankings, our group should be even stronger.

If they were done now we'd have Eng instead of Pak and Bangers instead of Canada...
Just a quirk of the rankings being done in advance.
my understanding is that the rankings were done on the basis of historical WC performances, not the ODI standings.
Why are India 2 and Pakistan 3?? They were atrocious last time out...
It goes back to 1975 apparently.
Then surely the Windies should be higher than 8!
Doesnt make sense mate...
Just going on what I've heard about it.
Heres hoping Bangladesh put up a better fight with the bat. No doubt that when they won the toss they were frightened to bat
Had England won the toss I reckon they would have sent Bangladesh in on the basis of the showing Bangladesh had in the previous game
Ireland are so competitive, and I want them to win for many reasons today but mainly because of how annoying the Windies keeper is. SHUT. UP. ALREADY.
Ireland can still win while Mooney is there.
