Yep, every two years.

2026 in India and Sri Lanka
2028 in Australia and New Zealand
2030 in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland
It does sound a bit stupid for a title of a World Cup, for it to be hosted on Australian shores again in 6 years time. (2022 and 2028)

Feel like the media coverage has been abysmal, more so because Fox isn’t showing it. It’s very much out of sight, out of mind, unless you’re a hardcore cricket follower. But probably par for the course with cricket media these days b/c newspapers are just non-stop AFL even in the “off-season”.

Not to mention a World Cup in the same year as cricket is in the Olympics in 2028.

These global events are the only real way for the ICC to make money, so they want them as often as possible. And that won't change while member boards (led by ECB, BCCI and CA) insist on the primary of bilaterals at the expense of the game as a whole.

Not that I'm here to shill for the ICC, but the base price for matches involving West Indies at Guyana was/is US$22. Meanwhile the highest you'll pay for PNG vs Uganda at the same venue is $25, and they start at $6. I suspect the highest prices are aimed at tourists more than locals.

And as has been pointed out previously, sporting competitions routinely schedule matches to suit the primary TV markets - the Olympics shifted swimming finals to the morning in Tokyo for the US broadcasters, for instance.
I have no issue with scheduling for TV markets - but what market are they scheduling for? They are shit for all the primary cricket markets bar England, and theres no point scheduling for the US given its behind a cricket specific streaming paywall.

Looking into my crystal ball...
As the domestic leagues continue to grow, bilaterals will likely disappear of the calendar.
It probably wont be long before ICC events are the only international cricket matches. Which will be ~one tournament a year. (a WC every 4 years, T20 every 2 years, and an Olympics every 4 years. No one cares about the champions trophy).

The main night time slot isn't great for the UK at 1:30am.

A system in which bilaterals are replaced by genuine qualification tournaments - like soccer does for their myriad events - is probably not a bad one, imo. Everyone complains bitterly about meaningless white-ball series - even though they have been used to qualify for World Cup events in recent years - so let's give them some proper meaning.

It won't happen though because the national boards get their income from bilaterals.

For comparison there were 12,741 at Adelaide Oval for the same fixture at the 2022 World Cup and that Adelaide fixture had the advantage of it being a double header with Pakistan v Bangladesh.

Anyway to find crowd figures for the entire tournament?

They need to axe the 50 over format to give the calendar some breathing space

Have I got this right - we win every pool game from here and just happen to slip up against Scotland, England would likely be out ?

That would be a shame

On reflection - looking at NRR's , we may even be able to win and Scotland could still go through

Particularly as we get to play Scotland last - we may be able to re-employ our strategy (hopefully more successfully) from 1999 against WI. Beat Scotland, but only just - would love to see us go at 3 an over late in the game to win in the 20th over to preserve their NRR

I think it'll come down to how close the Australia game is against Scotland, I can't see Scotland beating us but if it a tight one Scotland probably go through.

USA need to beat Ireland to knock out Pakistan - potentially could still if they lose but there NRR isn't that great so if they lose and Pakistan win there last two Pakistan more then likely will progress.

NZ in a horrible spot, Windies and Afghanistan 2/2 and crazy good NRR's. NZ effectively need to smash Windies and sneak through with Afghanistan.

Scotland need to be competitive against Australia and England will be eliminated, probably should bat 2nd if they get the opportunity but England could easily belt Namibia and Oman and sneak through.

Sri Lanka all but out losing 2/2 but they were in a tough group with Bangladesh being one of the minnows.

So effectively we could see Pakistan, NZ, England and Sri Lanka all failing to progress... that would be huge!

Particularly huge given in the format you wanted for the World Cup, 2 of the nations who could make it through wouldn't even play in the World Cup haha.
