For the record Bangladesh are soon to be an Associate side once again after a unanimous vote by there board to self - relegate themselves down a tier.

Their angst over the new ICC structure was based around the exact oppposite thing - they were desperate to keep playing Tests. No idea where you've got that from.

Regardless, they are not an Associate nation, and Zimbabwe would lose Test status before them anyway.

Bangers are not playing tests anymore?

That is stupid, how are they ever going to improve if they can't play?

To be fair, Ireland would be just about on Par with Bangladesh so hopefully the Greenleafs can put in a solid test or two for the next two years whilst in the top tier which was agreed on last year.

Might even see Ireland stay up and Zimbabwe lose in two years with a raft of up and coming sides in Associate cricket pushing for higher honours (namely Afghanistan and the Dutch).

Either way they won't be participating in 5 day cricket any more, instead the 4 day intercontinental cup will be the pinnacle for them.

Upsetting for guys like Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mashrafe Mortaza and Enamul Haque, some genuinely talented cricketers in that bunch.

Again, not true. The future of Bangaldesh in Test cricket is up in the air, sure, but they haven't stopped being a Test playing nation.

I thought that the whole reason Bangas signed on was India/Australia promised them a couple of test series in the 5-6 years.

Dockrell was also very good I thought.

Will probably be bowling for England in the near future

Hopefully not, but yes he pretty much changed the game - Zimbabwe were cruising at a very nice rate before he came back for his second spell.

That was my impression too.

Wait to see if THIS guy pops up........

Can someone explain why in T20s we would have Dan Christian in the side batting at 8?

Surely the net runs he would score over say promoting NCN and Starc up the order would be negligible compared the runs that a specialist bowler would save through pinging down 4 overs.

We should be playing 5 specialist bowlers every match IMO, however at the very least 4.

For mine - Faulkner is a good enough number 7 at T20 level - bat him at 7 and NCN at 8 - that is plenty of batting

BTW - i'm not talking about the hit out the other night
