anyone injury prone, def no no. These players need to fulfil a role and we need players who can cover distance well. We need people who can play a run and harass role in the midfield to let the better players rest or move forward.

The only 2 I'm really interested in off that list are Lennon and O'Rourke. Lennon was a number 12 pick, and you can attribute at least some of his disappointing form so far to injury and glandular fever, which can be seriously difficult to come back from. He tore up the VFL last year to a degree that noone did for us, and at only 22 a guy with his elite skill level would be worth a shot. O'Rourke is nearing Morabito territory with his injuries but the bloke has serious talent, and is a quick and skillful midfielder. Wouldn't be against giving him a year, as on the off chance he gets his body right, I'd much rather he becomes a star for us than ****ing Hawthorn ;)

As for the rest, Sam Collins and Hartung are probably the best of them. Collins is a solid young defender but we don't really need more of his type as he's pretty similar to Thompson/Nielson. Hartung is kinda shit, but I guess he's young and quick which is something we don't have too much of. Can't see him ever being better than a C grader though, theres a reason he never played in a GF for Hawthorn.

Seriously, I can see Lennon getting it together under the right circumstances. Never really managed to get going thanks to injuries.
The problems I have with Lennon are firstly where does he fit in at North and secondly, I don't think the chasing, tackling and general pressure side of his game are up to scratch and given the current trend of the past couple of years where it's not necessarily the most talented team that has won the flag, but instead the best pressure team, that is a significant issue for mine.

This could be a difficult question to answer, but how often does a bloke get delisted, get picked up by another club and then go on to have a decent career? I reckon they would be few and far between and I can't see anyone on that list being one of the few.

If they come from Freo, a lot? :p

It might also be worth adding that I stumbled upon a fox sports article with a few more delisted free agents. If I knew how to post the whole article I would, but the gist of it was;

Jack Trengove (26) *
Zac Clarke (27)
Ben Kennedy (23) *
Henry Schade (24) *
Michael Talia (24)
Lachlan Keefe (27) *
Ryan Harwood (26)
Josh Cowan (26)
Jake Spencer (28)
Josh Prudden (23)

In this case the * denotes those that the author of said article believes we should consider and does not denote Essendon drug cheats. Sam Collins was also in the article and was also one that we should apparently be considering. That list may actually be worse than the first one.

So we are left with 2 "valid" picks in the draft, yet have 4 open spots, possibly 5 if Lindsay heads to Port.

Could we open the door to 1 or 2 DFA's on 1 year deals as a last chance scenario?

Options:
Jonathan O'Rourke (23) - Former pick 2 crulled by hamstring injuries.

Ben Lennon (22) - Previous pick 12 and mate of Luke's

Michael Close (23) - 197cm and one i rated in his draft.

Jimmy Toumpas (23) - Former pick 4 who just hasn't put it together.

Tom Lamb (21) - Risky could be anything type from the day he was drafted.

Billy Hartung (22) - Quick former rising star nominee.

All fit reasonably into our age profile moving forward.

It would be Close but I'd squeeze Lennon over Lamb, not really liking Toumpas as he can be hot or cold.

Isn't there some bloke that was delisted and went on to play 130 games straight at a second club?

Guys, you're not thinking like for like here. Our most recent player delisted is Sam Gibson, so he must be replaced by someone who runs all day, gives his all & can't kick it to a team-mate.

Come on down Dylan Buckley!

Is Trengove done?

Played a few games when Melbourne were contending for finals at year’s end. Wasn’t absolutely terrible. If we’ve got lots of rookie space he wouldn’t be the worst pick up, especially with a new VFL side to fill. Has technically captained an AFL side and apparently an A+ citizen. Maybe just a big VFL offer if that’s a thing? Make him VFL skipper.
