Opinion I've lost my faith in Ken Hinkley

I don't disagree with your overall point but some of those 'facts' are a bit light on with reality.
Fair point, my point is Kenny makes terrible people calls in list management

Hartlett was done deal for 1st round pick and he had a round of golf

#terrible disaster decision. Hartlett- is slow, one dimensional, and old world good kick player.

You get my point

This is just not true.

Where have you got this idea from?

Fact

Essendon were all in...........now 3rd round at best

Hammer has 5 year deal...........disaster contract

You didn't answer the question.

Where have you got this information from?
Also, how do you know the value is now "a 3rd rounder at best"?

3rd round was my speculation but well known in inner circles that Kenny stoppedEssendon deal after a game of golf with Hammer.

Believe it or not, it's a real fact, not a a Donald trump one. I am surprised you don't know this but irrelevant now as that deal is long long gone

Hammer is c grader now. Tight hamstrings, slow and gets beat 1-1 every time

So it seems David Koch has as much to do with this as Ken does. He's basically been given a job for life now because of China. Good times.

I doubt Koch will go before the end of 2020 ( our 150 ), but he has been very quiet lately which could suggest he has been asked to cool it with the public comments.

Kenny has one big problem, he doesn't make hard calls.

Boak- average player on 900k
Monfries- finished
White- finished
Lobbe- over contracted
Hartlett- we had a first round from Essendon and Kenny had a game of golf with Hammer.......best offer now is 3rd round
Dixon- over paid
Pittard- over rated
Neade- not good enough

List goes on..........

List goes on. He is a great coach but should never ever never ever be involved in list managmemt. He is too soft and loyal to people he likes........nice attribute but not ruthless enough in Bill Biilicheck mould to win the big dance.

We are average at best

I think there's now a large enough body of work now to suggest Hinkley's shortcomings as a coach run quite a bit deeper than his blind loyalty to underperforming players.
Despite the sprinkling of duds like Young, Sam Gray, Impey, Trengove et al, we still had enough quality cattle out there yesterday to be at least competitive against that crows team. But watching them aimlessly bumbling around with less direction than a rudderless ship it became abundantly clear that Ken Hinkley simply doesn't know that much about football structures, gameplan, or any of the other essential elements that make even a competent coach.

I'm of the belief that anyone who has the belief Ken is the man to take us forward has his/her head stuck in the sand.
This is so reminiscent of the Arsene Wenger out campaign whereas wins against minnows help paint over the cracks.
hey welcome to my world. Its all started already, we beat Chelsea in the Community Shield. We will be top of the table in November, then it will happen again where we tumble down the table.

It is very reminiscent of Port. We have been a carbon copy the last 3 years.

You're interpreting events to fit a narrative that you want to push.

I'm not disputing that Ken had a game of golf with Hamish. It's not unusual or wrong for a coach to speak to a senior player in that manner.

What I'm disputing is that Essendon had offered a first round pick and that Ken told the club not to take it and that the club allowed him to make that call.
Assuming also that in this scenario, Essendon would have taken the full value of Hartlett's contract off our books? Or perhaps there is more complexity to the supposed deal than can be conveyed during the 'inner circle' meetings?

That sad thing is we have not won jack under Ken. I watched the first half last night - Arsenal link up play was very promising. When I saw the results this morning I was a bit baffled as to why they had Courtois take a pen...

Hinkley's right, once again, that we got what we deserved.

We got what we deserved because we have a locker room full of pathetic spuds who are mentally weak.
They do not have a winners attitude, they have no determination, they have no guts or grit in tough games, they fail to stand up and be counted, they fail to turn up so often.
We have a playing list whose overall mentality is that of losers.

People who are getting paid top dollar to do something, but fail to do it. They should be handing their salaries back to the club.

How often did our players stand there watching, or act as if they are playing a game of "tag you're it" with the Crows? Instead of tackling the Crows player with the ball, they'd stand around watching, as if waiting for someone else to tackle him or perhaps they were expecting him to take a dive and pretend he was tackled?, or they'd "tag" them in some bizarre piss weak movement.
I've been saying this for years. Tackling is one of our biggest problems.
How the hell can you not tackle the player with the ball standing in front of you? How can you not wrap him up?
So often the Crows players didn't even make an attempt to "escape" because they know our players will not tackle them when momentum is against us.

Mentally weak dogs. The lot of them.

If I was Hinkley I'd resign in disgust.
You have defended Hinkley for a long time. Either way your argument is flawed. If he cannot motivate enough players to get up for a Crows game then he cant coach. Remember round 2 2016. Equally disgusting effort and attitude. We cant sack the entire team

Is there no chance of Dew coming in as a head coach? I don't know how i'll cope if we ever were to have Voss as the main man

In fairness, Ken is probably hurting as much as us and is under significant pressure. A rational decision needs to be made at the end of the season. For me, it needs to change, but thats what boards are in place for.

It should be done now. Gives us 3 games to throw in some guys like Howard etc and change things up a bit just before finals.
