Steele has a lot of talent. He's still getting a game fairly regularly with a hugely talented midfield at GWS and he's only a second year player. If a side were to get him for a second round pick that would be a really good deal for them IMO.
i wouldn't hesitate to offer 2 2nd round picks.

He's a little vanilla IMO but could be a very solid player for a long time for anyone who picks him up. I doubt North is in the hunt simply due to having a number of players in the same mould, but would be very happy to have him if we were. We were, if I recall correctly, the ones who put a bid on him.

How about take tigers pick 4-5 for gws pick 8-10 and steele would that be fair enough then we give that pick to suns for prestia

Even though he has gotten games this year and probably would still be playing if not for his hand inj, feels like he's been sat deep forward in many of the games he did play. Strange.

It's not a given he wont stay. Most likely depends on whether he can cement a spot. He is under real pressure from Hopper and Matt Kennedy. He isnt gping to replace Shiel, Cogs or Ward anytime soon, but he is younger.
I suspect à full and frank.discussion will be had re his chances at our "ones" and hiss worth, and then his call.
Would swap him for Heeney tbough.
Hahahahahhahaha

Very lucky start up clubs come in when they did mate or your mob would Also be there next season and would not be sitting wear they are today .

I believe you have taken what was intended as a pure observation of the current football climate as a personal attack on your football club.

Nevertheless, your statement (which has been made many times before) is simply not correct.

Clearly Hawthorn had a good team already going into these two drafts, but no better than some other teams around at the time. Certainly you would have to assume that the teams competing in the Grand Finals in the years immediately prior to the 2010 drafts (Geelong, St Kilda, Collingwood) would be better placed than us to take advantage of the dilution of talent. Furthermore we made some fantastic selections with relatively late picks in the GC/GWS drafts that granted us players essential to the threepeat in 13/14/15. If you care to look at the selections of our two clubs over the compromised drafts as an example you will see the following:

2010:
RICHMOND: Pick #6 - Reece Conca
HAWTHORN: Pick #19 - Isaac Smith
RICHMOND: Pick #30 - Jake Batchelor
HAWTHORN: Pick #38 - Mitch Hallahan
RICHMOND: Pick #47 - Brad Helbig
RICHMOND: Pick #51 - Dean MacDonald
HAWTHORN: Pick #55 - Angus Litherland
RICHMOND: Pick #63 - Tom Derickx
HAWTHORN: Pick #66 - Paul Puopolo

2011:
RICHMOND: Pick #15 - Brandon Ellis
RICHMOND: Pick #26 - Todd Elton
HAWTHORN: Pick #33 - Bradley Hill
HAWTHORN: Pick #38 - Jordan Kelly
HAWTHORN: Pick #53 - Alex Woodward
RICHMOND: Pick #55 - Matthew Arnot

Astute trading over this period also allowed us to turn 2011 Pick #24 (and dropping down the order in 3rd+4th round) into Gunston, and picking up David Hale for the 2010 end-of-1st round compensation pick. Again, essential players in the threepeat.

If anything, Richmond's draft history in terms of pick order is quite close to Hawthorns. We just picked, traded and developed the right players whilst managing to have the best coach in the league.

Just a thought on value. On the saint board it's been talked about either a future second or downgrading out first. Would trading our future first for Steele and Gws's future first work? They get more points we keep a top 10 pick this year and a first and second still for next year for any potential big trades.
It seems fair to me how do any GWS supporters feel about it?

Let's say Richmond 1st and next years 2nd for Steele, Stewart and GWS 1st round this year.

Fair?
