From what I've seen he looks like a highly talented, passionate future gun who plays right on the edge, isn't there to make friends and has a bit of FIGJAM.

In other words he's exactly what we need.
We can coach that out of him

He’s currently coming across as a real flog of a lad if we’re honest..

Not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing.. as someone else above meantioned, we probably need a bit if that in the side.. to try and offset all of Hamish’s “nice, polite lad that comes from a great family” picks..

He's 18. Plenty of time to work it out.

He wants out, we pay the premium. We don't have the luxury of being picky. Simple

For me the craziest thing is that 6 months ago he was sleeping in his North Melbourne Guernsey.

It has unraveled so quickly.

North have a distinct lack of KPD - We need to offer our first and Mcasey.

if only McAsey added to the value of the first. There'll have to be a bit more than that go their way.

Interesting the fact that it unravelled so quickly reflects poorly on him too. My gut is he will do everything he can to get to port . Whilst we should absolutely try to get him we utterly mismanaged the draft . Hate to say it but if port had the same trade currency that we had they would have done whatever it takes. We are soft

Mcasey is contracted.

He doesnt have to accept being traded for a start.. and who the **** would want to go to Norf.. You could end up in Tassie in a couple of years!..

We’d more than likely tell Mcasey we are trading him to north as part of this big deal for JHF and he’d turn around and say “no thanks.. but I’ll go this club.. and pick someone like essendon who will offer us a stale packet of chips for him”.. and put the whole trade with north in the toilet.

And.. a packet of stale chips is actually probably close to what he’s worth mind you!..

These playstation type trade discussions are pointless.. about 1 in every 100,000 actually eventuates.

Rachele & Soligo vs JHF is looking OK?

Taylor shown enough in his limited SANFL outings?

Need to get Jordan Dawson to speak to him on why he chose Crows over Port, from all reports loves it with us and confident he made the right choice.
There is absolutely no way in hell the crows wouldve offered their 2021 1st, 2022 1st and another first rounder during last years trade period to try and get pick 1 and thus JHF without asking the lad if he wanted to play for the crows first..

Nicksy aparently met with the lad a couple of times prior to last years draft.. he wouldve asked him.

And the fact they asked North for that trade tells you that JHF said “yes, I would be happy to play at the crows”.. they wouldnt have put that much capital up to get pick 1 last year if he hadve said “nah, not keen to play for you guys”..

The JHF ties to Port are based on his stepfathers past ties.. and they arent the strongest of ties. Fabian dodnt exactly leave on the best terms.

JHF was/is a freo supporter growing up so theres no port link there..

If he asks to be traded home to SA at the end of this season you’d have to think North will say fine but you can go to the SA club who can give us the very best deal possible.. or you can stick any trade ideas up your arse as you are still contracted to us.. who do we all think can provide the best deal at the table between port and crows come the end of the year?..

The lad himself will also be looking at which club can provide the best deal money wise and who of the two teams has more chance of success on the horizon.. crows are down the bottom but you’d have to think Ports window has just shut (debatable that it was actually open anyway- they arent really that great they just kept getting very soft draws in recent years)..

JHF choosing Port, and North even dealing with port, is very far from a given..

North should have done our deal and you can’t help but think they either didn’t do their due diligence on him or ignored any signs that he would not settle.

I wouldn’t go back as Rachele is a keeper but would definitely go back now with our 2022 and 2023 first round pick and their 2023 second round pick coming back.

Would even throw McAsey and/or Worrell in there to shift those 2023 picks back a round.

the thing with Port is that they're already working out who they can push out that has value to get the capital required. We wouldn't part with Matt Crouch because we believe that's not what good clubs do.

And who is that? Karl Amon? He’s a free agent anyway and might get a third round compo. Unless Port tank they won’t have the capital we have to trade.
