I heard one of the WCE midfielders say McGovern was supposed to be on De Goey but didn't run back hard enough and could have been caught out badly when he took that intercept mark. It was part of a WCE interview package a week or so after he game. I wouldn't blame De Goey, I'd blame the delivery. DeGoey's job at that time was to be in a dangerous position. It might all be acedemic if Adams didn't turn it over at half back yet again. Then again, WCE missed plenty of opportunities after we took what should have been an early last quarter match winning lead. They were all over us from then on.

There are always incidents that can cost a game. The bigger picture is having the best list. We didn't and we didn't win.

How many indefensible acts did you notice, just the one?
Plenty.
But this is a JD lovefest, so I addressed that.
Now if you and your cohorts don’t believe that this one act had a huge 8mpact on the result, then you simply are using the blinkers beloved of Saintly.
If you, and your cohorts, believe that this act was not addressed by the coaching staff, then you simply don’t understand the game.
If you really understood my initial post, you would see that it was JD’s response to being outmarked, by admittedly a poor in50 delivery, was to stop dead in his tracks. That response took any pressure off the player with the ball.
And that, despite the usual suspects sycophants pleas, will be addressed by the coaching panel. As it should be.

Come on!! That (earlier) post was up there with the most annoying we've seen around here in recent times, at least as far as provocative bullsh** is concerned! Even the infamous TG at his worst wouldn't have stooped so low! Yet, I'm sure your post has caused just the sort of reaction you were looking for. It's not like this is a new approach for you.

As for the incident itself, I don't remember it, and don't wish to watch the last bit of that game again anytime soon. Perhaps JDG was simply worn out and had nothing left to give, it was at the end of the game, and at the end of a very long and tiring season. If he was doing what you've accused him of doing regularly in games I'd absolutely expect it to be addressed by the coaching panel, but I seriously doubt given what was at stake in that particular game, and how many other moments we had that cost us, that they'd suggest to a particular player that his error/lack of effort cost us the flag!

I suggest you refresh your memory by watching the vision. At no point did DeGoey stop moving.

I’m never looking for a reaction.
I don’t need it.
Just post the facts as I see them.
And I always see them correctly.

I suggest you look again.
He slowed to a virtual stop, then had to accelerate hard when the player with the ball took off

HE was caught behind because all year he has been dragging key defenders to the goal square.....

If he tried to get around and man the mark from that far back its a 50 every day of the week...

50 would have given us a chance to man up and flood the backline.
Would have taken the 50 everyday of the week at that juncture of the game.

Do we get cohorts now? Can I have a herd?

Actually, I prefer a raiding party. Niiiceeeee

Well you would have been wrong. It still took WCE 25 seconds and three contested marks to move from D50 to a mark on the boundary. If McGovern takes the 50 it becomes a seven second run and he can still play on from just outside 50.... great move.

Assuming you manage to flood the backline anymore than we did the ball still went to the boundary line... To a two on one... and I'm sure you picked up that Sheed had been on his own across half forward for a good minute or so... why haven't you put Pendles on blast for that? Why not Maynard for his kick in up the middle? They were trying to win the game and thats all you can do sometimes.

I’ve said before. This is a JG thread.
And a love feast thread at that.
I’ve pointed out a flaw in his game, one that had a direct effect on the result. One that the coaching panel will be addressing.
Every poster who has taken the opposing view wants me to apportion blame on other players at other junctures of the game. They all, including you, don’t understand that this is a DG thread, so talking about other players culpability isn’t relevant here.

Enough with the deflection mate......you said Jordan was the main reason we lost the GF.

You’re wrong......own it and move on.

To be fair he did say some of the blame.
I'm looking forward to an influx of bumped threads when addresses some of the other players.

He doesn’t know shit and says stuff to get a bite.

No Anzacday he made it clear in this thread it is about Jordan.

I know that mate but when he uses terms like JDG “lovefest” when no one is doing that then I will bite......not hard but I will still bite anyway.

To blame JDG for the loss is utterly ridiculous. It’s Bay 13 stuff. The fact he gets away with it says a lot.

Going against the grain here. But I lay some of the blame for outer GF loss at DG’s feet.
Have a look at our forward thrust immediately before they scored the winner.
The ball was turned over in our F50 to DG’s opponent, with him trailing by 15 metres, then giving up any semblance of a chase and tackle.
It’s all there on the tape if you dare.
This is the worst post ever
