He isn’t a role model to young men.
Now he may not be but I imagine he would be someone they admire or want to emulate.

This is the biggest myth.
No myth.

My grandson who is a WB supporter looked up to him. He also had bulldog players that he tried to emulate as a kid.

His early attempts at kicking goals was to try Daicos kicks as a 5 year old.

Of course kids have idols and role models.

Great point - it beggs the question. Is the Club endorsing the poor treatment of women by taking sponsorship money from Emirates.
Why isn't the Club concerned with this poor record on human rights?
More importantly given this is a far larger issue, shouldn't supporters be accordingly outraged, and vocal far more than their preoccupation with JDG's behaviour.

Clearly the issues are complex, and this idea that Sponsors are beyond reproach, highlights that taking stands on social issues is a 2 edge sword.
100% but unfortunately Jordy is an easy target. If you have a look at what people want to paint as his recidivism you have a first offence when he is 18 where the alleged victim files a statement of no complaint, you then have the false allegations in NYC and him touching someone with consent in Bali. He is hardly the monster people want to paint him to be.

Lol my favourite player as a kid was Chris Tarrant yet I have never mooned anyone. How could this be? Stop with the Helen Lovejoy think of the children crap.

If parents are concerned about their kids not understanding the issue surrounding consent maybe it’s a good time for them to have that conversation. Instead of trying to tear someone down

Didn’t break a law?, exposing a woman’s breast in public, l think is against the law, especially under Indonesia law. Anywhere there except for Bali he would have been arrested even with out a complaint
I’ve watched the footage and I didn’t see exposure.

What would forums be if words like 'woke', 'cancel culture' and 'virtue signalling' not been invented?

Don't think I have ever used them to express an opinion as still not sure what they mean or the context to use them.

English is a pretty comprehensive language to just use simple and known words and not the current 'buzzwords'.

He isn’t a role model to young men. This is the biggest myth. It doesn’t matter if people don’t understand, what matters is did he have consent? The answer seems to be yes.

Should I be shocked by your response? Nah! Deny all you like, inescapable reality is that he and other elite sports people are seen as role models.

And I think you’re confusing her acceptance of his behaviors as consent. One is confirmed before before taking any action, the other offered after. Happy for you to confirm she’d actually given consent for him to grope her breast and try to expose it in a public setting and on film.

Not one of my posts have been around consent!

I have not referred to the woman apart from agreeing that she didn't appear to have an issue with the interaction with DeGoey.

Does anyone know who first went with the Ginnivan/Quaynor story? I for one would like to hold them accountable for the potential mental health damage to young players, effectively accusing them of being misogynistic and degrading women which we can all agree wasn't the case.

Time to start holding some of these **** wits accountable for the damage they are inflicting on players.

You should be ashamed

You just said it, she was okay with it. He respected her boundaries and that’s what matters. Not sure why it is so hard to understand that

There’s the secret option c), of course, which is in fact the most likely;

That Jordy (or whomever) pulling her top down was unwanted, she gave a gesture to indicate a quick “sod off!” and got on with her night.

People you like can do things to annoy you, and that doesn’t mean you want to lodge a formal complaint or ruin someone’s career via social media.

So in my view Jordy (or whomever) very likely didn’t have consent for that action, but nor did Remy herself want to take action or blow the unwanted behaviour out of proportion.

Or Option D) Jordy finished his evening with a raucous three way with both blondes like the champ he is.

first I heard it was mentioned was on Footy classified by caro. I knew of the video for a few days but didn't seem to bother anyone until monday night

Ralphy is such a sanctimonious prick
I think he is just dumb - which I think doesn't hurt for some journos, so they can just plough in without realising how much of a tnuc they are being.

I had to spend an hour with him one day at an event where he was the writer with another HUN clown there taking snaps. He was quite affable but seemed to have genuine difficulties with sentence construction during general conversation.

He promised to arrange for a bunch of photos to be sent to me. I had no confidence that he would manage this task. He didn't.

Right. Because you haven’t mooned anyone, Tarrant isn’t/wasn’t a role model for anyone else and more broadly, elite sports people aren’t role models. I’ve mooned people. Does that mean subconsciously, he was a role model for me?

You yourself seem to struggle with the concept of consent, should we take that up with your parents?

I saw Taz over summer in an awesome fk off boat. Still a role model.

Yes indeed.

The speed with which this topic has degenerated into an occasion for people to gnash and slobber about wokeness has been predictable, but no less pathetic for that.

Unless Ralph, Riewoldt, Cornes, Lyons and Robbo all became standard-bearers of progressive politics while I was conducting business in the toilet, it should be easy to see that the professional hysterics in this instance have nothing to do with woah woah woke.

I know it’s off topic, but there was an interesting write up on fox sports today on how Jordy should be valued as a player. The posters who have been throwing out stats with no context should probably take note of some of the stuff here, so they can get their minds around why Jordy is rated so highly as a mid/forward, even though his numbers aren’t elite by either of the pure position metrics:

Only two players in the competition this season average at least 20 disposals, 400 metres gained and one goal: Jordan De Goey and Marcus Bontempelli.

It‘s rare company to keep and one that underlines De Goey’s credentials as a midfielder/forward.

Judged as a midfield / forward, his rating points are 14.7 — the two above him are Bontempelli and Tom Liberatore.

He ranks elite in clearances, while he‘s above average in disposals, contested possessions, metres gained and goals.

As a pure midfielder, those disposal and clearance numbers come back down to average, but at most clubs if not all he would likely play the midfield / forward role given it‘s where he appears to have the most impact.

He‘s also thrived in that role and, on numbers at least, improved upon it this season compared to last, when the move was first made.

His player rating points have jumped from 9.1 to 14.7, his average metres gained have jumped by nearly 100 and he averages nearly two more clearances per game.

At least he cops it.
Not where he deserves to cop it!

I think his Nom de Plume should be........... I. Mc Hunt!!!
