Was going to read up on it but thought I would ask if posters have had first hand personal experiences.

Everyone has had experience with it. The diagnosed condition is pretty common. You'll know people who would have been diagnosed if tested. But like most conditions, it's a spectrum, with all of us somewhere on it.

Whilst AFL 360 were banging on about JDG & respect for women & that is was distressing for people to view the video…they had the JDG video playing in the background.
So the very video that is so distressing to the community is played again & again by the media outlets…

The 24/7 coverage of 9/11 for days on end set the standard all media outlets now aspire to.

the biggest influencer of youth in AFL has more social media followers than anyone gets sympathy for doing coke and looked after by the media I read an article about it 24 hours after he got caught and it was about how much of a bigger star Bailey can be because of this drugs thing and they had to watch what they say because a young man’s mental health was at stake but when they wear a Collingwood jumper there’s no such thing as mental health and it’s made up get told to “not play victim” the media are a disease and anyone that can’t see the pure hatred and double standard for our club is blind as a bat

They keep going on about how his actions in Bali have disrespected women. Am I missing something? Outside of the fact it was consensual there was only one woman involved so only one person potential disrespected by his alleged actions

I’m not sure why so many seem to gravitate to the extremes in the discussion. Either “nothing to see here” or “hang JDG”. It’s a broad continuum and the truth sits somewhere between those extremes. I don’t think he’s done too much wrong, regardless of how distasteful I can appreciate some might see his actions. But he’s a role model and young men now see that making oral sex gestures toward women is okay, they now see that groping breasts is okay. How many understand the issue of consent?

Didn’t break a law?, exposing a woman’s breast in public, l think is against the law, especially under Indonesia law. Anywhere there except for Bali he would have been arrested even with out a complaint

No, but it can adversely affect your decision making, especially in situations where the senses have been heightened.

I work with disabled. One kid has ADHD and learning disability, he has stabbed his Mum and broken his brothers arm I dont know if its the ADDA doing this to him or he has other problems as well. My son has ADHD and just has trouble concentrating

Each to their own? Yes a lot of people wouldn't think that's ok and I personally wouldn't do it but this was between Jordan and Remy and they were having fun with each other.

Who are we to decide what's their fun? If they are both ok with it then fair call that's up to them and it's their business. We don't have to agree but it's none of our business.

Great point - it beggs the question. Is the Club endorsing the poor treatment of women by taking sponsorship money from Emirates.
Why isn't the Club concerned with this poor record on human rights?
More importantly given this is a far larger issue, shouldn't supporters be accordingly outraged, and vocal far more than their preoccupation with JDG's behaviour.

Clearly the issues are complex, and this idea that Sponsors are beyond reproach, highlights that taking stands on social issues is a 2 edge sword.

Thank you, I’m glad I didn’t have to say this. Often the two conditions go hand in hand too. Autistic kids are frequently diagnosed with adhd too.
