The issue with DeGoey and the latest incident isn’t about doing anything wrong by going to Bali and partying.
Its about how he regards himself as an elite athlete.
While he deserves a week off, in the middle of the season does he really think this is the best preparation?
It just may be that it all comes easily to him and he takes that for granted. But the truly elite players of the AFL know what it takes to get to, and maintain, that level.
And partying trips to international countries don’t really factor into their preparations.

To summarise what you just said……..

The issue with DeGoey and the latest incident isn’t about doing anything wrong by going to Bali and partying. The issue is that he went to Bali and partied.

He doesn’t have to consult the club.
You’re making being wrong a full time occupation.

Pretty sure clubs need to know where players are so that they can coordinate random drug testing as required. I’d therefore be very surprised if the club wasn’t fully aware of JDG’s Bali trip. They have no power to stop him going, as long as he’s back for the next scheduled training session, he can do as he likes. And having now seen the photo, I think he’s doing very well for himself.

To this day, if you are out somewhere and Dane Swan, Dustin Martin or jack crisp are there, you aren't allowed to have your phone pointing to them at any time. These are smart men, not like to the stupid idiot Degoey, what a ******* clown

Lols aplenty when you are using Dane Swan as the template. Are you suggesting to Jordy to simply not get caught?

By the way is what you stated actually true , or is it just another lie of yours to embellish your story? .

Is this satire? If so "chef's kiss".

ffs, the issue is he went to bali and got pissed, looked like a ******* and then let some idiot post it on social media. Are you stupid or just plain ignorant?
The only way the "going to Bali and getting pissed" would be a concern is if it was a) outside of club imposed rules or b) without the clubs knowledge.

Looking like an ******* is entirely a matter of opinion.

No internet, no smart phones, no social media of any kind. Most of these current day AFL players have grown up with all these things as a given part of life. Imagine putting a 20yr old in the passenger seat of your car, confiscating their phone and handing them a Melways and asking them to give directions. You'd end up in Acapulco.
My friend's son who is 37 has bi-polar and swore off all technology a couple of year's back. He had been an Uber driver using a sat nav, but gave up using that and resorted to his mum's outdated Melways. He was totally perplexed by this book of street maps. His mum had to spend several hours teaching him how to use it. He won't spend time in the same room with a TV or radio. We used to watch downloaded series together but his anti technology mindset kicked in before the final series of GOT, so he never saw the concluding series. He won't use his phone except to respond to messages. Needless to say he doesn't do Uber driving anymore. In fact he barely works at all and relies on welfare. It's really a sad situation.

I can't imagine having to revert to using Melways again, particularly with failing eyesight.

Where's the proof he "got pissed"?
Is that the same as having a few drinks?

A few days on the sauce during the mid season break is fairly standard amongst players. Not as though it magically adds a couple of kilos or suddenly reduces fitness. Jordy actually trained with the Bali Geckos during the week.

Either way, he looked like a dick and was stupid enough to put it on SM, even after he recently avoided prison by paying out the victim. I don't care if he';s an assassin in his spare time, but you put stupid stuff on SM and your asking to be scrutinized

We don't really know what the other players are doing during the break. Unlike Jordy, they don't release videos detailing their activities. The true test of their preparedness to play AFL will be their performance in the first game after the bye.
