To summarise what you just said……..

The issue with DeGoey and the latest incident isn’t about doing anything wrong by going to Bali and partying. The issue is that he went to Bali and partied.
Ah I knew someone would be so dumb as to try and misinterpret my words. Even put words in my mouth.
And you never let me down.
Dumbarse.

So if, as some on social media have stated, the hand grabbing the girl is not JDG - what’s the issue?

And even if he did, the girl has no issue with it so it’s kinda bringing her “morals” into question and **** shaming her to make this ruckus in the media about nothing.

He’s had a few drinks, had a dance, stood in a pool with a beer, given the bird and mimicked oral sex… It’s not like there is any vision of him legless drunk or off his chops like Ben Cousins or that.

I just seen Josh Daicos post pics from Gold Coast (Australia’s Bali), in a pool with his Mrs who’s wearing (OMG) a bikini and he even had the audacity to post a photo of the GC skyline with what looks like a cocktail in the foreground. What about the children?? What sort of role model is this?? Haha

Mihochek also posted a pic at a winery, so I just jump to conclusions and automatically assume he smashed like 20 bottles of red and made a pest of himself haha

Seriously, if JDG is copping it, why ain’t the rest? You can’t tell me it’s professional behaviour to go to a winery or Gold Coast on your week off and let your hair but then say going to Bali and doing exactly the same thing is “unprofessional” or bringing the game into disrepute.

A lot of people in this country need to lighten the hell up when it comes to what is acceptable moral standards.

I have absolutely zero issue with JDG going to Bali for a week to enjoy his time off.

And if it is true, that the hand grabbing the girl is another person - I hope JDG sues every media outlet that claimed otherwise. And I hope President Browne goes to town on them, and backs JDG 100%

Reprimand and public statement from club

If it is a reprimand, what are they reprimanding him for?

He was permitted to go to Bali.
He is permitted to drink on bye week.
He is permitted to dance and make dirty gestures.
He is permitted to post video of himself on social media.

Is it for a hand that may have belonged to him (and may not) pulling at a woman’s top? How do you even word that, and what’s the burden of proof as far as the AFLPA are concerned?

I honestly don’t see how it meets the standard required to reprimand anybody, and frankly I’d just take jmac70 ’s tack of leading with “hey Jordy, how was Bali?”.

Damien Barrett wrote a well thought out measured article that made a lot of sense. What is happening?

I don’t know that it made that much sense. It says in effect that we have to sanction him, just not with a suspension.

I would argue that we don’t have to sanction him for anything, and we probably can’t legally suspend him without grounds as he probably has performance based clauses and game fees in his contract and it would be a restraint of trade.

I think a caution is more than sufficient here in terms of “punishment”.
No punishment. No caution. The club needs to uphold the personal liberties of the people in the video. They are allowed to act like that, they are allowed to post videos on social media. They need not to be held to account to members of the club, AFL and public who want to unreasonably control their actions. Nothing wrong has occurred here apart from hysteria from the media. Collingwood should ignore the hysteria and do the right thing.

Hear ****ing hear

He will be asked to check himself into Fun Rehab.
The course developed & managed by MM.

I heard the media got wind that Jordy had been enjoying a succulent Chinese meal, and realised the clickbait potential was unprecedented.

Oh wait, here is Jordy arriving at the airport now…

I agree with you, but at the same time JDG will be reprimanded by he club and needs to understand that his behaviour outside the club can have an impact on the reputation of his employer and he needs to be more careful. I've worked in schools where I'd be reprimanded or probably sacked if videos like that got circulated in the school community, as it would cause parental complaints and affect the bottom line. That's the reality of Jordy's job. So I do think he will and should be reprimanded internally, but he should be defended publically, as what you are saying is a more important principle. And you just cannot encourage this sort of media harassment of personal lives.

Yes

We have seen an hysterical response, a maddening of the crowd whipped up by the media

The factors range from media proprietor cynicism to moral over-reach

The outraged should focus on real work

Leave JDG and his buddy to have some fun without The Panopticon

Would love for the club to rip into the media in support of Jordy. If Eddie was still in charge I highly doubt we'd be seeing a quarter of the bullshit going around.

Cmon pies, side by side is what we stand for so make a statement tomorrow and close this off so we can get on with the season.

Eddie would have accidentally thrown himself under the bus and thus taken the focus off Jordy.
