This thread has started making my eyes bleed. I’d love to hear from a level headed Eagles supporter how a straight swap for Rioli and Georgy would actually make sense.

I sense an eye bleeding theme going on with you

Amon compo.

Apparently the contracts are pretty similar. Not sure how there can be any serious discussion from Port supporters complaining that they should get a second rounder for Amon, yet not be willing to pay the same for Rioli if they've put a similar contract in front of him.

That or Georgiades, with our third rounder going Port's way.

Pretty low from Rioli to cut and run from the Eagles after they supported him for so long through his drug ban/issues. They could easily have delisted him and moved on, I don’t blame them for feeling aggrieved at this.

Early 3rd round pick should seal the deal.
They don't have one, their next pick after 8 is 53, and that's not enough. And Eagles probably value him as a second rounder. The Amon compo seems likely and the simplest solution or a future second rounder (could be higher, could be lower).

Other option, only works if Georgiades wants out, which doesn't seem likely.

Shame they have no way to get him to pay back the money they wasted supporting him for those two years. Lesson learnt, druggies should be cut and left to deal with the consequences of their decisions.

Take out his terrible character and he is only worth a third based and an average contract based on his poor form this year.

53 is far closer to his value then the likely Amon pick, a future 2nd, or Georgiades with a third coming back

Trade Hayes and perhaps a future 3rd for a pick around 35 and on that goes for Rioli.

35 will drop closer to 30 and that’s more than enough.

Any talk of Georgiades being involved is just ridiculous. Especially when you consider he’s locked into training with Boak in the US. Doesn’t seem like something someone would do if they were considering leaving.

Future 3rd is pretty fair, 28 years old 51 Games & 60 goals (with nearly half of those being in 2018)

Since 2018, 32 goals from 27 games and a 2 year drug ban.

Talk getting one of the most exciting young key forwards in the game for Rioli is pure insanity and ridiculous that WCE would ask.

Yea he’s a talented player and it’s understandable West Coast would be upset having stood by him during his drug ban, but that doesn’t make him worth Georgiadies in a trade.

Why would you be putting a four-year contract in front of someone who's barely worth pick 53 then? There seems to be some agreement that he's worth at least early 30s, with Eagles likely wanting more. Given the Amon pick will end up in the late 20s, that's a lot closer to his worth than 53.

If the offer was in the early 30s, we'd probably take it. That said, a future second rounder could also get the job done. Port would probably be banking on it being worth 30-36, Eagles hopeful it could end up being 25-30.

Really? No way would someone get themselves as fit as possible with a contract year coming up? It’s the most natural thing for someone to do. Have a great year and see where the money comes from!

Maybe he hasn't been considering it, but the club may ask him if he keen on a move to WA?

Again your alluding to him still remaining at Port next year, meaning any talk of him leaving this year is redundant.
