But will on next update have Viney going at pick 3 for Melbourne.

Look at it from a GC & GWS point of view. What do you gain as a club from bidding on JV. If they consider him in the top 2 players then sure. A recruiter worth his salt would not risk picking a lesser talent in an attempt simply bluff another club into using an earlier pick. Anyone who has a say at those clubs would not allow them to bid on JV. the risk is too high.

Jack has very clean hands and uses it well by hand consistently. Big time accumulator. Left foot kick, can use his right. Kicking is generally very good and can find his targets over short and medium range but doesn’t have that same hurt factor as some of the other elite mids in this draft. Speed is good and can break away from packs, also athletically I like his agility and side step, has some evasiveness and can burst off in another direction at pace. The big strength athletically is his endurance which without seeing any of his testing I suspect would be very, very good because he has such a high work rate.

If the cards fall this way then we will obviously feel like we have drafted the second and third best draft age kids in the country. I can live with that.

Gee I hope we don't blow our 1st round pick on yet another HBF to go with all the other HBF on the team, can usually get a decent hbf in the 2nd round.
We need to inject some real pace into the side through the middle as it seams to be a weakness that certain sides can exploit Carlton, Hawks, Melb and is noticeable.

Looks like an ave draft for pies again, don't get me wrong we have got some good solid citizens out of late picks but gee it would be good to get a gun jnr soon.

I'd like you to name your top 10 with regards to who you consider to have the most natural talent. A separate top 10 for who has the best leadership qualities and finally a top 10 when you combine talent and leadership. For example, I'd expect Garlett to appear early in your list of top 10 talent, but not appear on your list for top 10 leadership, whereas some players may appear in all three lists.

Barry and Neade are really impressive talents and I expect will get strong draft consideration.

Close has had some up and down games. Rippon has been consistent and a big reason why the Rebels have been so good this year.

All in the mix but as with every year after that first 40 or so the draft opens up.

When talking natural talent keep in mind those ratings I just gave you are talking more flashy type talent rather than how productive/good the player is. When talking how good the player is go by my power rankings - which is essentially how good the player is.

Ruckmen who can go forward, take a grab and do some damage will always be high on my draft board. Those others lower down my rankings are still to some extent unknown or we won't know exactly how good they will become.

I've always been a big Wingard man and was on his bandwagon a good year and a half before his draft year and assuming he can stay healthy and continue his development would be my choice of the two. Ball use is exceptional and is a class above Green.

There will always be strong difference of opinion and particularly with those who are already AFL players you will always get some with very strong views.

I like the interpretation. Bennell is interesting. The guy is having a near All Australian season and if he stays motivated will surely be a monster for a long time.

Giles is out of contract at the end of the year. Sos, pay the man, or someone else will.

If Collingwood lose Cloke, Giles would be one of the first I'd be sending a strong offer out to. The guy has earned a raise and is already a top 10 league ruckman which is pretty impressive considering it's only his first season.
