Hoping for Nakia Cockatoo and Reece McKenzie myself!Hey, knightmare, who do you think the dons will pick up with 17 and 20? Or who would be the best fit?
North are very keen on Nakia and will probably grab him with pick 16 if he is available.Hoping for Nakia Cockatoo and Reece McKenzie myself!
Cockatoo/Menadue/Garlett at 17 and Blakely/Ellis at 20Hey, knightmare, who do you think the dons will pick up with 17 and 20? Or who would be the best fit?
Nightmare great work on getting the reworked order out there so quickly.
I've been hearing from lot of different sources that Melbourne are really into Lever and would probably take him and Brayshaw. It would obviously be a risk due to his knee injury but what are you thoughts on that. How does Lever stack up quality wise compared to McCartin?
The other query I have is the no.1 pick. Petracca appears to be favourite but do you think that there is any chance that the Saints will go after McCartin? It's an interesting scenario because my info is that we want Brayshaw and Lever, meaning that Petracca could potentially drop to #4.
And GWS would then go tall and draft Wright considering they have lost Boyd, Jaksch and Patton is injured, and we could welcome Petracca, a lifelong Collingwood fan, to the club he loves.
A man can dream...
What about Harry Dear? Can play forward and ruck, looks like a late draft special?Obviously not given they passed but not even Brisbane will know who will be available and their eventual pick.
Matthew Hammelmann? Brisbane obviously won't take Hammelmann but if looking tall late draft Logan Austin, Dougal Howard and Nicholas Coughlan are all talls GWS were wrong to pass on and around that mark could develop, as rare as that is with talls taken that late. All have good talent and all have improved strongly over the course of the season.
If looking mature age Brett Eddy and Michael Hartley forward and back respectively are others who as rookies who both can play.
I will have Duggan next update going at pick 12 to Richmond. His stocks are if anything on the rise the past few weeks with all reports suggesting he interviewed exceptionally well and impressed all the clubs he spoke to.
Beasley is a late/rookie chance but probably against the odds.
He's been one of and arguably the best key defender in the TAC Cup. He plays a terrific two way game. Beats his opponent almost every week but balances that well with an offensive game as a capable rebounder.
The issue is just more that he is only 190cm, which most will look at and dismiss immediately given he is a true key defender.
It will be an interesting one. I'm a De Goey man as he can win it inside but also go forward and take a mark. Duggan is probably the slightly more highly rated as one of the most highly regarded people in this draft and I expect he might be slightly favoured over De Goey as the more productive player.
Duom Dawan is a super athletic ruckman but very light bodied at 75kg. He's very raw but he's someone I want to see come back to the TAC Cup next year and see if he can improve. In the ruck contest he jumps and guys jump into him and he just recoils backward - as he doesn't have adequate strength at this stage. Similarly around the ground he doesn't find it. So at this stage I'd class it as highly unlikely that Dawam is drafted this year as an outside rookie chance at best.
Picks 26 and 27 are good picks. The top 30, maybe top 40 with correct talent identification are pretty good and pretty even. I wouldn't bother moving up. There will be some good value guys available in the mid-late 20s.
Brad Walsh is a Gun and would be an absolute bargain late pick up, AIS & W.A Captain, with brilliant testing results at the State Combine plus already playing league footy at Peel with AFL Docker players. He is ready made to play AFL next year.Hey KM has Brad Walsh come back into draft calculations after an impressive state combine?
I think we should pick laverade ahead of macartin we aren't short of young key defenders/key forwards/ruckmem but we do lack class pace and athleticism in the midfieldMelbourne are apparently very interested in Lever at 3. If that's the case, at pick 4 will GWS take Wright or McCartin? Surely they won't take one at 4 and one at 6. And if McCartin is available at 5, do Collingwood take him or are you guys too into Laverde? The way this top 10 is set out could make things very interesting.
Weren't your two early picks last year pacey mids though?I think we should pick laverade ahead of macartin we aren't short of young key defenders/key forwards/ruckmem but we do lack class pace and athleticism in the midfield
Can you post his State Combine testing results ?Brad Walsh is a Gun and would be an absolute bargain late pick up, AIS & W.A Captain, with brilliant testing results at the State Combine plus already playing league footy at Peel with AFL Docker players. He is ready made to play AFL next year.
Yeah we'll it's freeman schatenberg and pendlebury, that's all we got. Relatively we lack young players in this aspectWeren't your two early picks last year pacey mids though?
Freeman is quick, and he's exactly the type we need, but we definitely need another. Scharenberg is more a utility type, likely to play much of his footy down back.Weren't your two early picks last year pacey mids though?

The most common stylistic comparison pre-draft was Brendon Goddard.isn't scharenberg a KPP?
