So just looking at the ladder and the games for next week. Essendon and Adelaide (because of their percentage) currently have two games on us, and next week have Gold Coast and Carlton respectively while we have GWS. So if we can’t pull a win out of our arseh*le, we’ll be 3 games out of the 8 with 4 games to go.

When will this torture end?

We are Port Pianos:

Lol and we go without a goal for half the game

PORT ADELAIDE

The riser

Travis Boak
Pre-season ranking: 80
Current ranking: 35

After his career looked like it was winding down, the former skipper is somehow posting career-high stats for average disposals (31.9), contested possessions (15.5) and clearances (7.3).

The slider

Paddy Ryder
Pre-season ranking: 14
Current ranking: 42

Has spent time in the SANFL and is going at career-low averages for disposals (9.3) and marks (2.8) since his first year in 2006. His 22.5 hitouts per game haven't been this low since 2012.

The standout performance

Ruckman Scott Lycett (33.7 Player Ratings points) put together not only the best performance by a Port player in 2019, but the best performance by anyone this year, after winning 23 disposals, 16 contested possessions, one goal and 33 hitouts in the Power's round two victory over Carlton.

The sleeping giant thing was something we put out just before the 2013 off-season after coaching and management changes were made and there was significant excitement amongst the supporter base.

Why we are choosing to use that slogan again when optimism is at an all time low and we are heading towards another off-season in the wilderness is completely beyond me.

****ing lol. They roll out that saying again because it worked last time.

Difference is we were the sleeping giant and we were well and truly awakening.

Now, yeah nah.

The irony is that it is the club's administration that needs to "beware of the sleeping giant" rolling over and hitting snooze.
