Assuming you mean players who are currently 22 or under, Duursma, Georgiades, Jones and JHF (for North) are the only ones I believe. Somewhat astoundingly Zak Butters never got one, which is a great indicator of what worth the Rising Star award has as a method of judging talent.

That year Cameron Ling forgot Ollie Wines existed, causing him to finish third behind Brad Crouch who only played half the season.

That year Sam Powell-Pepper, a fixture in Port’s engine room all year including a 20 & 2 performance against the premiers-elect, finished third behind Andy McGrath who played the loosest of halfback roles and only averaged one more disposal.

Yeah that's what I meant. Seeing as we have been in and around the top 8 over the last four years while playing a relatively inexperienced lineup I thought we would have had a few more nominations. Astonished that Bergman hasn't been nominated.

Lol Butters one of the few who didn't get nominated... 2017 had SPP, Houston and Burton with Hawks. Even Bonner was nominated in 2018.

Nice award to win but 20mins later I wouldn't be able to name the winner.

Don't get me wrong, always nice for kids to get some recognition with a nomination to help build the confidence.

Howrver a kid getting more games for a bottom 6 club has to be a better chance of winning it as they get more minutes, midfield KPP time etc.

I've always seen it as a sign we're struggling when we've had to have Wines, Wingard etc come in a be key players for us in their first season or two.

Preference for me is to have an old guard help set the foundations and build the hunger. Rozee and Butters now in their fifth season and probably got held back a year too long for different reasons.

Can make the exception for the occasional freak talent, like Wingard, but I can't help but wonder how in a a parallel universe his 2013-2015 form lasted over a decade.
