I’d be shocked if either had a career resurgence like Jones did and indeed I don’t see Schache or Sproule as starting 22 players.
Rather the appeal of targeting someone like them is to serve as a break glass back up option so that if one of H and Charlie are unavailable we aren’t forced to play TDK, Gov or SOS as key position forward which none are capable of.
Neither will likely command much in terms of salary nor interest from clubs as a starting 22 option and I think they’d be happy just extending their careers with a guaranteed spot on an AFL list.

Nup, all the hallmarks of it being one season too many.Or Robbo back on a 1 + 1 deal?

As long as he draws a defender, that might be enough for us. We'd have (ideally) either Charlie or H available. Just need to avoid having them constantly double teamed.
If Schache is left unattended, he is more than capable of taking a mark and kicking straight.

Yep, accept all that however would rather we keep developing a player like Dom Akuei who looks like he's got something to offer (providing he keeps improving)

Going to cost our 1st draft pick for Hunter, don't see it happening after picking up Hewitt & Cerra last year, be highly surprised if we gave away our 1st two picks this year. With Austin's knowledge & previous attachment to the Bulldogs, it wouldn't surprise if he was interested in Schache &/Hunter if they're available.
Hunter wouldn't cost much. Bulldogs big chance of paying him out the rest of his contract if he cant find a new homeGoing to cost our 1st draft pick for Hunter, don't see it happening after picking up Hewitt & Cerra last year, been highly surprised if we gave away our 1st two picks this year.
Schache would be worth peanuts.
SMC was a ripper. Tick under 3 goals a game aint too shabby.Schache is a lesser Minton-Connell/James Cook. At least they had good days.

Then why trade for him?Hunter wouldn't cost much. Bulldogs big chance of paying him out the rest of his contract if he cant find a new home
Go check the Bulldogs board. Also heard similar from some friends who play in their VFL team. Bevo has given him two choices essentially, find a new team or enjoy ur paycheque off in the sunsetWhere have you plucked that little nugget from?
Can't imagine any club being in the position to wear 1.2mil in cap space over two years for a bloke who isn't on their list, especially if they're not getting something in return.
Hunter is rated highly as a player, but obviously has some issues outside his footy, the Dogs won't be giving him away cheaply whilst he is contracted.Hunter wouldn't cost much. Bulldogs big chance of paying him out the rest of his contract if he cant find a new home
Agree he is no Isac SmithNo thanks.
I would have Hunter in the outside run categoryHunter is rated highly as a player, but obviously has some issues outside his footy, the Dogs won't be giving him away cheaply whilst he is contracted.
Mid-late 1st round pick would most likely be required.
We have a need for more outside run, not sure he fits that category.
Don’t think,I’d want him anywhere near young players.I would have Hunter in the outside run category
Is it really a case of one or the other?Yep, accept all that however would rather we keep developing a player like Dom Akuei who looks like he's got something to offer (providing he keeps improving)
Should say I'm not an insider at either club so this is pure rumourmill stuff
