It really is the silly season. How is Port so suddenly on Shai Bolton's radar? Bolton signed a five year deal at Richmond earlier this year but has reportedly told Richmond he wants to return to WA for family reasons. SA is a long way from WA and unless he has family in SA he might as well stay put. Just because a player wants to leave a club it does not mean he will go to the club offering the best trade to his existing club. maybe someone can post a link to a report that cites Shai as saying he is willing to move to us? In the meantime this is the best I can find...

This from Bolton's management...

Bolton’s manager Anthony Van Der Wielen told Foxsports.com.au in a statement he “has not requested a trade” but confirmed there were “ongoing discussions with Richmond throughout the season where he has indicated that he would be open to the idea of returning home to Perth if a suitable deal can be struck that benefits all parties involved.

“With a young family and strong ties to Perth, the prospect of being closer to home is appealing to him. However, Shai is not making any demands of Richmond and fully understands that he has four years remaining on his current contract.”

We aren't. People were comparing what Richmond will get for Bolton, compared to what we would get for Houston. Then people started using that comparison to say they would or wouldn't do a straight swap of the 2. That is all, nothing to see here.

I thought we were comparing Rioli and Houston

Thanks for the clarification but why would anyone even want to go down that path? If it ain't going to happen why bother? My question is rhetorical as I posted it is the silly season.

5AA reporting Boak offered a year and Dixon retiring. Thanks for your service big Charlie.

Fair enough Charlie is cooked and while Boak made some shocking errors against the Swans he was serviceable for most of the year.

Yep, I join you in thanking Big Charlie for his nine years of service.

So
Dixon gone
Trent gone

Two so far
Yep and a slow filter on this info.

Would have to expect the Boak announcement might be tomorrow at this rate. Else he must be tied to the Cumming/Perryman saga. Though given we're unlikely to get them at the current rate maybe he will be retained.

Boak has been offered the Dev coach role at the PIES.
Maybe we do the same, a playing Dev coach

So far
  • Houston (Gone barring a trade gone wrong)
  • Soldo (Gone)
  • McKenzie (Retired)
  • Dixion (Retired)

No surprises if the following happens
  • Clurey (Trade)
  • Kyle Marshall (Delisted)
  • Quinton Narkle (Delisted)
  • Francis Evabs (Delisted)
  • Todd Marshall (Retire)

Question marks depending on after the trade period
  • Tom Scully
  • Tom McCallum

Who I want to put on the trade table or straight up delisted
  • Burton
  • Williams
  • McEntee
  • Ratguloea (Not going but I want him gone)

How did Port end up with so many B and C graders? Sheesh.

Why would you want Burton and rat gone ? 😂

the media is floating a few Victorian clubs are interested in Lord again.

Using Lukosius as the reason for him moving on…. But if Dixon has retired.

His kicking is so bad.

In the last part of the year, his turnover count went through the roof.

Against Haw 11 d and 5 turnovers.
Against Melb and Adel 10d and 4 turnovers. Was credited with 3 effective disposals in that showdown.
Against Freo 18d with his season high 6 turnovers. Was credited with only 8 effective disposals from that 18.

I think it was the Melb game he kicked 2 out on the full from unpressured kicks. Maybe the Freo game.

Either way, for a kid that has all the traits of an elite kick, he plays way too scared, and lacking confidence. In the middle of the year when it was rolling for him he was playing far more confident, whilst being productive and producing less turnovers total. That kid can play and should get game time, but the fade out we saw late in the year was really concerning.
Maybe Hinkley threatened him with the annihilator
