Can't believe O'Shea to Carlton hasn't got any traction. With his turnovers we could win the Carlton game next year.

with his turnovers to *Carlton* players Carlton could win a lot more games next year...

no we arent, but the fact that we have so many players on the 'trade bait' list shows that we are kicking players up the arse to play better for longer periods and more consistently
All I'll say is if Lobbe and O'Shea are still on our list at the end of the trade period I'll be pulling my hair out.

You sure do want Young to fail for an "I told you so" moment

Stop taking it so personal, dude. I actually said it more as a 'Young is good, O'Shea is shit - let's trade the good one and keep the shit one' type deal.

We are not trading 13 players.

Probs 2-4.

Likely 1-2
Unlikely 3-4
Extremely unlikely 5+

Most likely to go in order IMO:
O'Shea - Certain to be bait for a trade to get us into the 2nd round
Lobbe - Might be offered up but likely to be held onto as he may not command a worthwhile trade
AhChee - Will certainly be offered up, however not sure there'll be many takers.
Amon - Same as AhChee
Hartlett - Unlikely to agree to trade and we're unlikely to get the early first round pick that we would expect for him
Young - If the price is right I'm sure we'll accomodate a trade, however there'll be desire to keep him here
S Gray - Would be put out there but unlikely to command a trade worthy of completing the deal, he's also unlikely to agree to move
Neade - Extremely unlikely to find any way of trading him in a worthwhile deal
Broady - Almost certain to disagree to a trade.
Jonas - Unlikely to be any interest.
Krak - As per Jonas
Stewart - Certain to be no interest
Toumpas - Certain to be no interest

13 - brilliant. I'd be more comfortable knowing that the following 10 are definitely on that list;

Neade
Broadbent
Hartlett
O'Shea
Stewart
Toumpas
Lobbe
Westhoff
Ah Chee
Sam Gray

Surely it will be more than 1 or 2

If 13 are up then the number's got to be closer to 4 or 5
The 13 number is a load of garbage. Every single year we'd walk in with 10-20 names on our possible trades list.

At the end of the day they've also got to do a satisfactory deal. We also dont have many, if anyone, that actually wants out at the moment. So all these point to a pretty standard trade period.

The crazy trade out everyone crap going on around this forum wont be going on internally. The list managers at the club are not as crazy, and not as willing to see us plummet down the ladder in a rebuild.

People ultimately go into trade period like it seems you will, expecting record trading numbers, and then after nothing happens and the usual 1-2 moves are made then they all complain.

Let's be realistic, we're putting a lot of names out there to see what we could get for them, but we aren't just going to throw them away. We've got great depth at the moment and we're not going to trade out ready to go players for picks 50+, it would make zero sense and it would be bad list management.

We'll try and trade into the 2nd round, and even the first with Hammer, and if teams dont come to the party I'm sure we will hold our nerve and keep the players. That's why IMO, I expect O'Shea to go, and then likely 1 more trade is done to free cap space or get another 2nd round pick, and then if someone offers something really good for 1 more of our players we may get another deal done. Otherwise for me it's likely to be a 1-2 trade out period.

I'd be surprised if we don't trade at least 4 players.

Lobbe - he still has currency. (Richmond / freo?)
Jonas / O'Shea - at least one goes.
Hamish / Broady - free up some $. High value.
Ah Chee / S. Gray / Young - at least one goes looking for a longer contract.

The logistics of trading a pile of players is so difficult that it's highly unlikely. I would say 3 maximum, likely two.
I reckon 4 is a chance but it's highly dependant on what value other clubs place on our players, lets say 3 to 4 does happen and you throw in a few more delistings it would probably end up around the right mark for our situation.

I'd be happy with Lobbe and O'shea, wouldn't want to trade Hartlett unless we got an excellent deal. I've got an increasing desire to see Broadbent out the door though.
