Saw in that article that GWS have an unsigned ruckman by the name of Tom Downie. Don't know anything about him but could he be worth enquiringly about? Would cost a pittance.
Wouldn't have got a look in this year with Mumford and Lobb. Anyone with insight into NEAfL form?

Will be very surprised if we land a top 10 for HH. And I think he will stay for that reason. Club will really suffer for not taking good deals last year for Lobbe and Hartlett (allegedly).

We need draft picks as we traded away our picks in last 2 seasons and this years 2nd is gone also. Seemingly we are not in the premiership window we thought we were so we need to reset and build around our younger ones (Wines Wingard Hombsch DBJ etc.) Apparently Hammer has attracted some interest and has currency. He has been coasting a bit this year, or at least it appears so. A few players needing a kick up the proverbial.

Hey welcher.
The club took a huge gamble here on a bloke who is very talented but can't/won't put it together consistently on the field. When the Vic clubs came sniffing around last year, Port blinked and gifted Hartlett a ridiculously long, fat contract and (arguably) an unearned vice-captaincy. It appears another mediocre season in the books for HH, now suddenly 26, has forced them to re-evaluate. Unfortunately the rest of the competition may have seen enough of Hartlett to realise that a Top 10 pick for him is overs as it stands now.

For what it is worth, I think Paul Stewart will not be offered a contract next year. But rather than whinging about it, he is all club man. Look at his instagram account and note his intro. It says something along the lines of very Proud Port Adelaide Power Player and future player manager, aiming to be the best player manager! So he is definitely sowing the seeds and for that I thank him. Classy way to do it. Don't be surprised if its announced at the B&F tomorrow night.
