Still any hope for anderson?
Was there any talk of Jed Anderson on this board prior to Emma Quayle's glowing article in The Age approximately 3 weeks ago? If there was... I dont recall it.

Has anybody actually seen him play live, or is the enthusiasm being generated by a combination of phantoms, YouTube clips and a solitary newspaper article by a respected draft watcher. Always an uneasy mix.

I doubt this board has been hotter for any player since, and some incredibly fanciful trades are being bandied about. For a supposed top 15 draft prospect you would think he'd have been snapped up by now.

Do people think we will take Grundy if he is still there at 5 given we have such an abundance of rucks.

He sounds like he is a gun, but we are top heavy in that area already.
Yep, I would expect we would take him if we feel he's the best player available. I have a hard time believing gws wont take him though.

Up until 2006, in 21 seasons the combined total games for these players is 1041 at an average of 49.5.
I didn't include the last 5 years but they seem to be bucking the trend a little.

What's going to happen if we take Stringer at 6?

Just goes to show how high risk even early draft picks are.

Blue chip midfielders with 5 and 6 for mine. I think it was fronkalicious that said it earlier - we can't have too many quality mids. Premiership teams have large, rotating midfields (ie Geelong). Playing a blue chip mid off half back or in the forward pocket is a luxury. That said, I'll be secretly excited if we pick up Stringer.

That is why I want to trade pick 6 for 12/14
Seems a cursed number :p

I still shake my head whenever I see the #6 next to Tom Williams' name.

On another note - who the **** is James Walker?!

I'd like to consider myself across most thing AFL - but I've never heard of this bloke.

Gordon Coventry's great-grandson.

no dont take the best pick in the draft

this draft is more a inside mids draft, next year is stocked with KPP and outside mids and guess what our coach love contested footy, all we need to do is is rate the draft picks from 1 whitfield to 6 and pick the 2 highest players and we will do find out of this draft

can you do the same with pick 78 or 55 why not try 69 ;) over the past 10 years drafting has got alot better

Sorry Smurph, that was just a poorly disguised excuse for me to use the the table format. Plus that took way too longer than it should have. :D
good work btw looks good, im just over so many people talking about the whole pick 6, god im over the moon that our 2nd pick in the draft is before 14 other teams have their first.

I still don't know which way to go with Stringer. I mean if we don't get him for #5 or #6, and Geelong or Collinwood snap him up, I would be seriously pissed. If he went to PA or Melb I would just laugh.
