How do people not know this? We have gone through trade week and all the speculation preceeding it. Corey Jones is contracted, David Hale is contracted. do people not read other threads?

So we just hold onto him for that reason - i guess financially its smart but the question is - will he be in our next premiership???? so why hold onto a list clogger. He is a good player but he may be taking the spot of a young rookie or potential draftee.

I read on the main board that Pickers, his manager, has said that he will go into the draft in the hope Geelong will pick him up with a late pick. I didn't hear it so can't confirm it. I think it was mostly an issue of his sub-par medical treatment, but again, I didn't hear it.

I hope the club at least looks into if there is an agenda of Pickering to get Smith at his ex-club, could be a dangerous scenario.

I heard some of this this morning. Pickering said that Brisbane offered Mc Donald in a straight swap for Jesse Smith, but I think he said that North wouldn't do it because Smith is overseas. Pickering said that it was nothing against North but that the medical set-ups at some other clubs were better (which has been mentioned in other posts about Smith). He also said that Geelong had offered pick(s?) but that North didn't think it was a fair trade.

Someone texted in and asked if North would be spending some of the money they will be getting from the stadium deal to fix up the medical side of things. Pickering replied that he was sure they would but that that won't help Jesse Smith now (or words to that effect). He certainly gave the impression that Jesse Smith would be going into the draft.

When I switched the radio back on later, a caller was having a go at Pickering, accusing him of trying to get Smith to Geelong.

So my understanding, you can have 38 players + veterans + 6 rookies (will probably change to 8 rookies).

In 2009 we had 38 players + 2 veterans + 6 rookies

We wll only have 1 veteran in Boomer (Rawlings not old enough eligible in 2011)

Primary list:

Promote Garlett

Power, Harris, Watt and Riggio gone already.

I would add Wundke to gone.

That would leave us with 4 picks. We need 5 minimum, so one more has to go.

Out of: Benjamin, Edwards or Lower I reckon. (This is assuming Jesse stays, if he walks then all three above may be able to stay or we still delist one and take 6 picks).

You've missed out Gibson. We do also get an extra rookie pick for Simmo. Total list =38+vets+rookies=46. We could have 7 rookies next year if there is not a change in the rules, and one of them could be nominated to play from Round 1 (White ftw)

Aha - true. I did miss mongie ears.

Lower safe.

Warren Benjamin = Must keep

Agree. Admittedly I've only seen him train a couple of times but he moved superbly and his skills are sublime (at training!). Could be one of those guys that has a break out year after needing to find his feet in his first year ala Byron Pickett.

Yeah it would be stiff to delist the guy after just one year at the club.
