There aren’t many workplaces in the world where grown ass man are allowed to mock and belittle other grown men on live television and I think we have a duty to protect the ones that are still around
Irony of Beveridge playing the mental health card when bullying...

Medical sub is effectively dropped. Bevo then tried to one up Tom morris by naming Hunter in the side only for him to then get dropped to medical sub before the game. Hunter only played because Johannisen got injured in the warm up. Hunter shouldn't have been listed in the 22 and then been named as the sub an hour before the game like every other team does

Medical sub is not dropped.
Dropped is not in the matchday squad at all thats fairly obvious.

If anyone/coach is entitled to lash out/vent at the media it is Simon Goodwin.

His measured response to some pretty heavy accusations at The Dees shows the gulf in class between Goody and Bevo as people/human beings.
Was just about to say this. Got dragged through the mud and his response on 360 this week was along the lines of "I was disappointed, but I'm not going to respond beyond rejecting the claims".

Chris Scott is not gonna be happy when he finds out he’s lost the mantle

Look, I totally get why opposition supporters would find Chris Scott irritating with his constant whinges when things don't go his way. But I would have thought he's a reporter's dream. Always seems respectful and polite to them and if you ask him a question, he'll fill your notepad with the answer.

Amazing from Bevo. He'd have a point if Morris had actually been wrong. Wouldn't be surprised if this was discussed with the Bulldogs beforehand that he'd do it if Morris asked a question, a shot across the bow for whoever's leaking this stuff to Morris.

No he didnt because hunter was never omitted.

He actually was - which Beveridge himself confirmed. It was always the plan for Hunter to be a medical substitute, and be the 23rd man, from the past Sunday.

JJ got injured in the warm up, so then Hunter came into the 22. Had JJ or no-one else got injured, Hunter would have effectively been omitted, because he would not have played a single minute in the game. The other 3 emergencies are considered 'dropped' - so I don't see why it's any different for an on field emergency, if they don't play in the actual game.

Again though, it's utter semantics - and the serious issue for me is that he ranted at him for 3 minutes over something so miniscule and inconsequential, without giving him any right of reply, and then left the room entirely.

It’s weird people are suggesting the AFL should fine Bevo, when Morris is the one releasing information that messes with the integrity of the game.
Yep that’s the thing.

The teams aren’t even final until they run out.

Tom was all about trying to get a story out. Get an early season headline.

I’d be more interested in the previous story with Gardiner. Maybe something worse went on there?

It does not effect the integrity of the game

it may effect the integrity of the club but that is on the leaker and the club. It is Morris’s job to report what he knows.

Media personalities spend all week making comments that certainly affect players personally.
The AFL is a multi billion dollar industry primarily funded by a media rights deal. Of course the media are going to comment on players, that's part and parcel of playing professional sport.

Bevo was pretty over the line, but I think this is a key point skipped over because he went at Tom Morris so hard.

Reading between the lines, I am thinking Morris leaked the news before Hunter was made aware. It could explain the frequent references to mental health Bevo made, with Hunter previously having taken time off for personal issues.

Makes sense, but surely anyone would assign 99% of the blame to the person who's leaking this info to him?

I’d say it’s the job of a journalist to get his facts right but that doesn’t seem to matter these days.

It's not like this is the 1st selection change to be leaked before the game...
