So you're saying that Freo are offering 900k+ over 7 years (or whatever it is) for a guy that has shown no more than an unproven 18 year old draftee? Jackson is proven talent + potential. Not just potential.

huh?...do you know the deal? if so, enlighten us.
It’s possible.Nah, can’t lose Mundy, Lobb, Logue, Acres from the best 22 and improve.
Losing depth like Meek and Tucker who both played a reasonable amount of game time too, won’t help.
We are going into 2023 with one of the youngest, if not the youngest list in the AFL. If you look at 2022 averages we are going to be considerably younger having retired the 87 year old David Mundy. Drops our average age a lot.

Stop saying “Me” and “I” and talking about yourself in all your posts FFS.Well maybe it's good time for Freo fans to reflect on their ability to analyse and rate players. The 2 late firsts talk was nonsense. Like I said time and time and time again, late firsts are glorified 2nd round picks. You're not going to get Jackson by coughing up picks in the teens.
so the point is that because we don't know the exact deal we don't have a fair idea on players contracts? I'm pretty sure it's pretty well understood how much players are on these days. We know grundy is on close to a mill a season for example. We know that petracca and Oliver are about the same. We know, that Jackson is going to be on more than 750k and less than a million. And we know it'll be a long term deal.Absolutely not...that's the point
Article is light on details, but said it would be pick 14 + at least 1 x 2nd round pick.
Maybe a F2 at minimum.
Which means we're giving up 13, F1, F2, for an ooc player...
Perfect so you agree on 8 and a F2?I much prefer pick 8 and something else than freo's pick 13 and next years first. If I'm melbourne and the pick 8 turns out to be true, I'd trade pick 8 and a future first for a top 3 pick and try to snare Aaron Cadman.
Who's going to trade 8 and an F1 for pick 3?I much prefer pick 8 and something else than freo's pick 13 and next years first. If I'm melbourne and the pick 8 turns out to be true, I'd trade pick 8 and a future first for a top 3 pick and try to snare Aaron Cadman.
There were some prominent MFC people who left to Essendon a couple of years back…He used to be ‘in the know’ with mfc, but believe his sources left the club a year or two ago.
Edit - speculating his sources left the club - has been a few years since he dropped something on the money about the mfc
I think pick 8 and pick 20. the F2 would have to be an early 2nd imo.Perfect so you agree on 8 and a F2?
Most likely to be whatever North gives us for Logue, so nominally 19-21 since we'll have to use our own F2 to move up.I think pick 8 and pick 20. the F2 would have to be an early 2nd imo.
Gee that does seem a lot for a bloke whose position is not solidified at Freo with Sean Darcy there.Maybe a F2 at minimum.

Pick 8 and pick 19-21 this year seems fair. Most likely to be whatever North gives us for Logue, so nominally 19-21 since we'll have to use our own F2 to move up.
It's got "remember when Freo traded the farm for Luke Jackson" vibes all over it.Gee that does seem a lot for a bloke whose position is not solidified at Freo with Sean Darcy there.
Honest question for Freo supporters? Do you think Jackson a better ruck than Darcy, because I am not sure Jackson is a great forward, or is Darcy possibly on the way out?
Apologies if answered earlier in the thread.
As well as I think we can do to be honest. Would be 13 + 2x 2nd round.Pick 8 and pick 19-21 this year seems fair.
Would mean you keep your future first
Cool you can take North's. Deal done. No more debating.I think pick 8 and pick 20. the F2 would have to be an early 2nd imo.
Darcy is a far better ruck. Talk is that Darcy will be main ruck and LJ will play more of hybrid mid/ruck role.Gee that does seem a lot for a bloke whose position is not solidified at Freo with Sean Darcy there.

I could agree on that. Most likely to be whatever North gives us for Logue, so nominally 19-21 since we'll have to use our own F2 to move up.
Yeah, or you could say 13 plus Logue plus your future 2nd but all semantics. There may also be some late swaps involved as wellAs well as I think we can do to be honest. Would be 13 + 2x 2nd round.
Yes it's palatable. I don't necessarily believe that Port give up 8 for just an F2 though so a bit to play out.I could agree on that.
