I get why everyone is expecting him to stay (same)

But the Swans season is over and he is out of contract, it now seems a real possibility at least.
Pretty sure this is exactly what happened last time he was OOC. He was linked to Essendon, then he re-signed, and basically said he never even considered leaving.

Reid out is a no-brainer.
Surely have some money set side for Parker + his saved cash and back end it for when Buddy goes

Seems pretty obvious?

That's a dumb way to do list management though, you should never be backending deals at the start of a window.
He has been well paid for his last contract, and there is more downside than upside into the future.

If I were them I wouldn't. They need to go younger. Won't be ready to challenge properly for a few years yet, and if they keep topping up they never will.

You'd think they would want to keep some cap space available if they are as keen on getting Ben King as others have speculated elsewhere.

Yeah things could get nasty again for the Suns next year with King, Lukosius and Rankine all OOC.

Yeah it's getting concerning, out of the three, I think Rankine is most likely to leave though.

Does Dew get in his ear to go to the Suns? He’d be the type of leader they could use. You’d think they’d happily put forward pick 3 for him
Why would they do that when anyone can get him for free if he agrees to go to a club

He would replace Ross in the team and arguably on the list, hard not to disagree with that.

And bizarrely, if as expected, when Geary, Hannebery and Ryer retire at the end of next season, Parker would be our oldest player at 30 years of age.

Hill will be the next oldest at 29 years of age.

We'd also still be able to inject a bunch of youth with our first round pick and 2 NGAs.

Don't think this move would harm our age profile at all, it'd be bringing in a great player and leader to guide the next gen (what Hanners should have been)

Being reported Swans offering 2 x $500k, that is just a joke and can't be true. Just so much absolute BS this time of year.

Parker is exactly what Gold Coast need right now, but like most clubs, except ours, North and Hawks, GC have no cap space

Saints are in limbo at the moment, they’re too good to bottom out but not there yet as a top 4 team.

I reckon Parker could add heaps to them.

Parker and Steele would be up there as one of the best midfield duos in the league, Along with Marshall in the ruck, Crouch, Ross, Jones and Hill on the wing, all players in their prime they’d be one of best midfields in the league if they all buy in and Commit.

Forward line looks ok with King developing, Membery as a 2nd forward target, a couple of small forwards in Higgins and Butler.

Back line is Ok with Howard and Wilkie.

their plan has been to recruit players for now with Hill, Crouch, Jones ect.. changing that plan now would just waste the last few years.

Parker is a free agent and would cost them nothing, would be their biggest recruit. They’re a mid range team 2020 6th winning a final, 2021 10th missed finals by a game after a shocking start but a strong 2nd half of the season. I can see Parker pushing them close to the top 4.
