Scrappy windy match so far but to be expected with the conditions in a match sim.

Byrnes has been busy, Hill and Nas as well doing some good things - the priority for speed is clear there.
Cordy making some good contests as well. Wood hasn't missed a beat either

Hard to take anything from this given it’s an 8 quarter game. No idea if anyone is getting more than 4 quarters of game time.

Gotta love the junktime goals are still killing us, and if it was up to me I’d be banning handballs. We haven’t been good at them for over 10 years, and they’re a total liability. It’s such a basic skill, so why are we consistently so bad at it?

To be fair our kicks aren’t any better…

We are trying hard but the Dees are just bigger and stronger than us, it looks like men against boys.

This is showing why Paddy Ryder is such a big loss, he gave us that size and strength in the ruck and around the ground, without him we look weak.

It doesn't help that we are missing King, Hayes and Membrey but it's still a concern that we so lack so much size and strength.

Nas and Hilly are pure silk when ho running, and with Sincs we have the potential for some real class. Would be good if some of the midfielders could win the footy tho

Well that’s about all you’d expect in what may have been the first time we’ve had our best current 22 playing against another team of any kind since R23 last year.

With our low numbers on the track all preseason this sort of thing was practically inevitable.

Size of the crowd is about the only good thing from the match so far.

Despite it only being match sim, we shouldn't look this disorganised and this disinterested. That's worrying, especially looking at how dialled in Melbourne are.

Some perspective - they are a well drilled team that will finish top 4 BUT very little to get excited about to date - ordinary performance.

I won’t worry about the score after 4 periods as it will just be junktime match practice.

The only thing I’ll say in our defense is that Melbourne have basically played their best 22 in the first 2 quarters.

We are clearly playing a bit of a mix, no Ross, Coffield, Sharman, Billings and Campbell you could argue would be best 22 that are yet to see any action.

Not to mention missing King, Membrey, Dmac, Jones.
