3rd quarter

Collard a nice snap goal early on. Last few seconds of the quarter he did a brilliant chase down tackle. awarded the free and a 50m penalty to kick his 3rd.

Hastie nearly took a screamer. Attacks the ball really hard and intercepts well.

Arie reads the ball magnificently well. Taken 4 intercept marks this quarter and nearly wasn’t far off kicking a goal from 70 out. Took a big pack mark and then a piercing 50m kick to set up a score.
Lots. To. Like.

Keeler a couple of nice grabs, can tell he’s new to being a key defender as his positioning and reading of the footy needs a bit of work.

Garcia didn’t play in the 3rd.

That’s me done lads

We know the backline should hold up well and Bonner only adds to the half back rebound. Midfield looked pretty average. Crouch and Clark back should help that, but still hard to see it being a strength. Feel it is going to be a bit of a frustrating wait to get Owens in there. Wasted up forward.

Sharman, Membrey & King have the potential to be a terrific trio. All have different strengths and I could see them complimenting each other very well. Getting Butler back will be important. Higgins can't be the only genuine small forward.

Wilson fit in well as a high half forward. Didn't have him in for round one before today, but he looked good and compliments the system well. Same for Bonner. I had him missing round one, but hard to leave him out now. Possibly Stocker gets unlucky, unless they move past Webster.

Sounds like all our draftees are playing well...

Hopefully, this is THE draft for us.

Look we won and it was a superb day at RSEA but we will never have two grounds the precise dimensions of Etihad and the G. I'm taking to the centimetre.🤏🏿

Do you think it really matters? Personally I don't think it does. If you're good enough to win at the SCG, you're good enough to win at the MCG.

Jerry? who is Jerry?
Sorry #Sammm# - a monumental dad joke.

Jerry Garcia was the lead singer songwriter guitarist with an band of the 60's and onwards called The Grateful Dead.

The Dead just made the music THEY wanted to play- rock, country, jazz folk gospel reggae - whatever. Loved by their fans (Deadheads), neglected a fair bit by the industry.

Anyway - aside from that historical music lesson - Hugo Garcia looked the part - loved seeing him at so many centre bounces, loved his attack on the ball and the man and his speed from the contest was exciting to see.

A definite keeper.
