"Does matthew nicks really deserve to be sacked? No he doesnt."

Yes, yes he does. and that's not being irrational.
I think the real question is "Was Mathew Nicks the best candidate for the job and should he have been appointed?" No and No. They should have gone with Kingsley or Macrae. We should never have employed him. Just rectify a bad decision, better late than never. As usual Roo got it wrong. He should go with the opposite of his natural instincts.

Graham Cornes really is from a bygone era and his opinions should not
be allowed anywhere near a television or radio. Only in SA would this cooked dinosaur be given any air time whatsoever.

It’s a classic he went down the Collingwood example and they’ve just gone through an injury patch unscathed and their coaching and structure is lauded.

What’s the bet it’s crickets from Wayne….

Last I heard that 10 days ago Nicks was safe and secure because the media weren't saying was under pressure.

Wonder if WW will change his tune after woeful losses to Hawthorn and Richmond and the national media starting to stick the boots in.

Oh yeah of course, but I’m not sure we will even see a drop to those levels tbh. Sydney on Saturday night will be a good crowd as a couple of our stars are back and Sydney are good to watch. Maybe the Giants or Saints could see drop offs, but are in good timeslots and at worst probably see 35k still.

Didn't you predict a bumper crowd against Richmond because it was the 'busiest you'd ever seen' in the CBD?

How'd that go?

Matty Nicks said we have the list when his team is sitting 4-8-1. Matty Nicks also said Finals were the expectation.

Matty Nicks went 0-4 with a list that was extremely healthy (only missing TT from the best 22).

Its two years too late, but hopefully the pressure increases and it becomes untenable.

Yeah, but even if we were doing well, given Richmond's form I don't think the crowd is unexpected.

I think the crowd was on the low side and would have been under expectations.

We pulled 40k to a Sunday twilight against West Coast which is historically the worst timeslot for us.

If we were playing better, even with the public holiday, I think it would have been 44-45k IMO

In some ways I'm glad we have one of the toughest draws in second half of the year.

We absolutely do not need any soft meaningless wins to paper over any cracks or that stupidly give the club any more faith in Nicks.

I want Nicks fully exposed against the best sides in second half of the year so even the clowns at the Club can see he isn't up to it.

The thing is the media is still going soft on Nicks. There have been criticisms but no where as much as there should be because they’ve fallen for the nice guy routine.

Listened to 2 minutes of Blight and Wildy last night, it was sickening, gone into full ambassador mode. Blight “unless you’ve coached you don’t know” FFS, based on that defence every coach is safe and a good coach.

I’d love one of them to actually analyse all his **** ups this year and then make an assessment.

We might end up winning only one more against the Saints at home.
I cant seeing us beating the Hawks when they come over here.
And every other team is playing a lot better than us that we meet later in the year

Remember when Blight canned the defensive game plan Nicks had and said that you need to kick goals as well to win games of footy.
And then he went quiet

Either way, it will be clear if the current football department is up to it and able to take us into 2025. Absolutely nowhere to hide.

At this point it almost just feels like they're doing opposite day. "We fired coaches after a 2-3 bad years and kept having them, so let's just keep one and see how it goes"
Normally moving on coaches after a couple of bad years worked well for us though, at least for a year or two at worst under the new coach we would normally get deep into finals. I can't see how moving on from Nicks here is anything but a positive move for 2025 and beyond.

Blighty needs Will to give him an old Blighty shove.
