No one knows where Sloane would be playing if he didn't get injured but I guarantee he would be playing. I think Nick's is slowly discovering that hitching his wagon to the young blokes is his only way of survival. I don't think he will survive anyway as he has no gameplan and he isn't a good developer of young talent. I think he was under the mistaken belief that the older blokes where his life raft. They aren't except for Laird, Dawson, Walker.I wouldn't say many of his decisions. I have been underwhelmed by Nicks for a very long time.
Maybe I seem Pro-Nicks because I don't try and blame him for pretend things like some on this board (like him coaching Rachele out of form and saying the only reason Berry has been successful is because Sloane got hurt).
I think his game plan from when he entered the club was to play as may seniors as possible to get the extension he coveted and then he would worry about developing young players later. I think it's a testament to Berry and Soligo that they have developed so quickly in spite of Nicks lack of trust in the unknown. I wouldnt be surprised if it was one of our assistant coaches that pushed for berry.
