Smacking players behind the ears after they've forked up.

Well I guess he and many of his ilk did come from the times when footy was played a bit harder, or as some would say, in the days of ''Thuggery'' :)

Am I nuts or are they all correct? If not which are wrong?

Its a very confusing listing of the names because they have listed them in order of how close they are to the ball rather than left to right.

I looked from left to right. Robertson and McStay are wrong.

But others obviously have different eyes :)

Has a knack of doing that against Norwood.

Loved Hodges... As a little kid (many years ago now) was my first favourite player!
I still smile when I think about his third quarter against West Adelaide at Alberton one day - he kicked 8 in those incredible 30 minutes, on his way to 14 for the day. He was a freak.

Was anyone else concerned listening to Gerard Healy on the weekend? The man could not put together a sentence without difficulty, had trouble finding words and putting thoughts together. He would be a leading candidate for CTE you would think. I wonder if some of the symptoms are starting to show up.

I mean, it can’t be ruled out, but I think he’s having peak-boomer trouble with commentating off-site in Melbourne and trying to keep all his ducks in a row.

He said one of Chol's snicko points just hit the back of the post. From where he kicked it, to the left of the left hand goal post curling towards the scoreoard, it would have defied the laws of physics to hit the back of the post.

The 94 Grand Final was the best Hodges moment.

Port Adelaide have officially lodged a request to wear their iconic prison bar guernsey for the Round 23 Showdown with rivals Adelaide.

“There is a place for only one black and white striped jumper in the AFL, the iconic Collingwood jumper,” Korda said in 2021.

Port Adelaide chairman David Koch has previously claimed the club was tricked by the Magpies and McGuire into an agreement back in 2007 that the Power could only wear the jumper in heritage round.

But heritage round was canned in 2008.

What's the AFL's opposition to letting Port wear the prison bars? Unless Port is playing Collingwood there is no guernsey clash. It's been requested for 1 round against the Crows FFS. Decision pending.

'Unless Port is playing Collingwood there is no guernsey clash'

It's not about that at all and never has been nor will be.

It's the bolded bit that gets me. Why would their jumper be any less iconic because there's another black and white one in the competition?

Is Man Utd's jumper any less iconic (or less profitable) because Liverpool's is the same? The two teams are only about 40km apart too...

I want my board to grow a pair and sort this. I can kinda accept the coaching payout issue, but this is just honouring our Club's heritage pure and simple.

Admittedly, I haven’t watched the whole thing for literally decades, but was the umpiring even questionable, let alone loaded?

I’ll admit my memory is coloured by Scotty’s GOATedness but also the absolutely absurd whining from many a Legs fan that the free wasn’t there — which in-turn reminds me of this more recent moment of mass-delusion:

Both incidents being obvious free kicks in just about any era.
Re. that Collingwood v Adelaide final, what Crows fans don't like to mention is the fact that a very similar free kick was paid to them in the second quarter. Why is it suddenly a crime to pay it in the dying seconds?

Scandalous reporting by Fox Sports.

No mention of any such issues in this article, but whether or not he's being wedged, there seems to be questions about his future...

Media Street: Iconic broadcaster Gerard Healy weighing up future as the face of Sportsday

Gerard Healy has ruled the airwaves in Melbourne for almost three decades but is his reign coming to an end? Or is a switch on the cards?

What does the future hold for iconic broadcaster Gerard Healy?

That’s the question which is gripping Melbourne’s media landscape with the Brownlow Medallist’s decision on his future set to have a domino effect across two rival radio stations.

Healy has been the face of Sportsday on 3AW for an incredible 28 years but whether he continues in that role beyond the end of this year is currently being discussed.

Over the last couple of years the former Sydney champion actually came under Craig Hutchison’s Sports and Entertainment Network banner given he took over the production of the popular 6pm-7pm show as part of a syndication deal involving the AFL radio rights.

Healy has also been a regular in the special comments chair as part of SEN’s football coverage.

However, Hutchison’s hold over the show comes to an end later this year with Channel 9, who now owns 3AW, taking back the Sportsday program and rebranding it as Wide World of Sports.

From November 1 the former Sportsday slot will be known as Wide World of Sports with different hosts in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

The curveball in the national plan for Healy is that Nine only wants one host in each state. The radio veteran has always worked with a partner, currently journalist Sam McClure, and is reluctant to change his ways.

This just made me laugh.....

61yo former Brownlow Medallist, with his own chain of physio practices, coming off decades in multiple media roles on television and radio.

I do hope he doesn’t end up at one of those JobSearch centres where they teach boomers what a spreadsheet is!
