An assumption. Mighta been even worse under another captain. Bit harsh I think when you look at how he (and Yeo) seem to be the only ones giving a stuff.
All WCE Captains from inception (not fill ins).

Ross Glendinning
Murray Rance
Steve Malaxos
John Worsfold
Guy McKenna
Dean Kemp, Ben Cousins (Co-captains)
Ben Cousins
Chris Judd
Darren Glass
Shannon Hurn
Luke Shuey

Even when we were bad during Glassys run I don't think we have ever been as bad as we are now.
It's not a stretch to think Shuey as much as I love him as a player he has been the worst captain we have had based on his record.

More than a point its word for word spot on

Except for the final part.

A review by the WAFC would still ignore the massive issue that is development and our WAFL team. A problem caused by the WAFC. I don’t know how we get a complete review, but somehow getting a 100% independent review would be a godsend right now!

Absolutely spot on. We don't want to tackle, we don't want to defend, we don't want to think.

Dom Sheed should be bloody ashamed of that rubbish.

Piss weak doesn't even begin to describe it.

special Monday morning broadcast on SEN for Scotty & Goss (when they normally don’t work on a Monday) called “Eagles in Crisis”. Good discussion so far, although I’ll probably give the hasleby segment a miss here shortly…smug prick really struggles to hide his joy in our current demise.

After that Duff is doing a live cross into Whateleys morning show for further discussion.

Blowtorch activated folks…

The gap between his best and his worst is just too far apart. He's back to 2018 pre-finals where he couldn't put it all together consistently.

Only weeks ago he was one of our best. Has become an incredibly frustrating player. As much as I've been thinking the 30+ year old players will be cleared out, now the focus probably needs to shift to those not even in that age bracket yet. We're going to be carrying plodders just to pad the list with some experience.

Completely disagree. At His best, he is still a defensive liability who refuses to chase or tackle. Then offensively his only weapon is his lovely left peg. He’s a useless hand baller and often burns team mates. He needs to be let go

Agree about his defensive efforts. The further he is away from our own goals the more he is exposed as well. There's not much point him blocking up space in our back half if the oppo are just going to run around him and have a ping.

Within our forward half he is an offensive asset. He can kick goals and has good stoppage craft. I can't see us giving him the flick so I'd at least like to see him played as a permanent HFF and use his game sense to have an impact in that position.

I had him cherry ripe for a stint in the magoos coming into this year but that's not even possible with our depleted list of available players.

Listened to that SEN WA segment, listening to Chris Waterman on the way the club treated Jake is symptomatic of everything wrong with the place

Essentially sent him on a flight on his own after he was too sick to play against the Crows and didn't check in with him again till they found out he was in hospital on the Monday night

Amateur hour stuff

I'd argue at his best he's willing to get his hands dirty at the coal face if the tackle is there but right now though he's removing himself from an ability to help at the coal face because his first move is always three steps back from the contest hoping the easy ball spills out to him.

Agree completely that he's completely unwilling to chase for a tackle and I really only think his kick stands out because it's AFL standard in that he can hit a target which looks incredible in comparison to the rest of our team. In isolation there's nothing incredibly penetrating or special about it and to add to that he's just as one sided as Gaff is.

Dom has outlived his pec injury as an excuse not to tackle. I think he leads the ount for handballs to a team mates boots

Geez that’s gonna cause a stir , pretty bloody awful if true

Thought this was a great (albeit optimistic) take on how the club could quickly turn things around

"That Reid is a Victorian product might be enough to sway West Coast to capitalise on the deals that will be on offer. Thus far, GWS look like having two top-ten picks following this season (currently picks 5 and 7).

Would those picks and Lachie Ash get the deal done?

Who says no?"
I say no

I’m sure we would have sent an email.

I’ve argued there’s not much point in moving Simpson on, but if he’s telling the players something and they are so unwilling or unable to do anything about it, then the communication must be irretrievably lost. There were enough good players out on that field not to lose by 170 points.
Moving Simpson is moving all the troubles to a likely first time coach. The list is so bad where I see the next coach doing as bad if not worse than simmo is. That said I don’t think Simpson will be there in 3-5 years time
