Melbourne: what do we make of them

I thought it was impressive that they weren't anywhere near getting out of second gear in the first half and still kept in touch - and would have been well in front if not for inaccuracy. The good teams are able to grind it out during spells of skill errors and opposition pressure.

Next week will see the lid well and truly off - surely - if they manage to win.

If we pull it if we will be 6-0 for the first time since 1965 - my lid will be out near Andromeda

I don't often use the phrase 'unstoppable juggernaut' but it's pretty hard not to use it in connection with this team. There's just something about them which makes me feel like football was never played properly until they came along.

Truthfully, I don't see us losing another game this year. And if I'm wrong may all Melbourne supporters be crushed horribly with disappointment somehow.

If Carlton had your draw they would be in the exact same position on the ladder at 4-0 and possibly with a better %.
Possibly the dumbest thing I’ve read, and I’ve been on here for a while

Dees notching up wins whilst not playing to their potential. I’ve watched all their games and have largely been underwhelmed - but they won them all. More importantly, they did so without a forward line, and without using the dominance of Gawn. An absolute stack of improvement to come from Melbourne, and if they put it all together, they will go a long way this year. They have the list that could go all the way.

We're in accumulation phase, it's about the 4 points, hopefully minimal injuries and building confidence and belief.

Say what you want about BF (not that I've noticed it) but I can guarantee the club isnt getting ahead of itself.

There are currently 3 or 4 teams I have ahead of us but its a long season.

Given everything Dees supporters have copped from this club, it's great to see them not giving up like in previous years.

Um, he's their most important player by the length of the Flemington straight. If he goes down, the entire ship sinks.

We have nothing to lose next week. Get a free shot at the champs. Hopefully we can take it up to them! Will be good to see where our side is at.
We are playing our worst football, you’re getting us at a good time when we’re out of form. Would be embarrassing for Richmond to lose this one

We have historically covered him fine, provided the key bookends are fit. We’d miss him more around the ground than in the ruck.
