Right so my elderly neighbours are noteholders and have said we can use their notes to get GF tickets if we are in as they aren’t going. Is this still a thing? Or don’t they actually have priority ticketing anymore.

Someone explain it to me like I am a three year old.

You’ll be Priority 1 , which means you’ll have the best chance of the ballot
The club couldn’t tell me how many people qualify for priority 1, nor do we know exactly how many tickets will be allocated to competing club members in total.
If it’s true that 15-17k were allocated last year and that a similar number were allocated this year , then you’ll get GF tickets after registering for the ballot (because I doubt 15-17k will qualify under priority 1 and want to attend the GF)

I rang big Nissie on 6PR early in the year (got the recording somewhere). He said notes were attached to seats at Subi, gave the opportunity to get into Cat A at Optus and that's it mate. According to the deed they didn't have to do anything according to him.
I bought notes 4 or 5 years ago to jump queue at around $2,500, got my seats and access to 2015 GF so wo0rth it for me (not the GF!). They are now worthless I would think, despite them having a value in Indian Pacific IIRC about $800 each - not sure if the deed has any mechanism for redemption.
Don't have great issues with that but seriously not happy with no communication from club at any stage about Noteholders rights.

If they don't have a queue jumping mechanism any more then that sucks for me. I might have to get myself an ITW membership after all.

I stand corrected - they are still worth something - you are correct, redemption value, I forgot, although I think redeemable for initial price?

Being a noteholder means nothing. They get no special treatment. A lot of noteholders are also not aware that their privileges have been taken away.

In terms of Grand Final tickets it all depends on their membership at the new stadium:

Priority 1 : Club 87, Blue & Gold Terrace, A Reserve, Victorian Platinum and Victorian Captain’s Club members

All Priority 1 Members are GUARANTEED a GF ticket if they nominate for the GF ballot.

Priority 2: B, C, D and E Reserve, and Victorian Gold and Interstate members.

The remaining group will also have to nominate for the ballot, and they get the tickets that are left over after the priority 1 group have been allocated tickets.

The main gripe for noteholders is they didn’t provide advance notice they would become worthless after the move to Optus. I’m not a lawyer but I reckon there is case to recoup foreseeable lost value.
Not sure they have a leg to stand on. I knew this from last year and I'm not a noteholder. It was on the move emails that even ITW members got. They were very clear that it gets you access to the first round of seat selections and there would be no other ongoing benefits, as the benefits are now are all tied to your seat selections.

Wish you could pay for a Priority 1 membership but pick your own seats. They are supposed to be the best but some have the sun right in your eyes for most of the game.

Got offered A Reserve but did not like the location, now have what is classed as D Reserve at ground level. Way cheaper and seem so much better location wise. All preference I guess.

So would buying a note now still allow people to skip the ITW queue and have access to A reserve ?

It may allow you to skip the ITW queue but it's very unlikely to get you straight to A reserve, more likely the first available seat which are likely to be in the less desirable categories. I could be wrong however :)

How many priority 1 members are there? I get the feeling there will be 3/5 of fa left for the rest of us to scrabble over.

Talk about a stroke of good luck

Haven't been able to get a number - but since WC have said they are guaranteed a ticket, it means there should at least be some left over. But I wouldn't expect it to be many. Most P2 people in the ballet wouldn't get a ticket.

I remember back in 07 I went to Hird and Sheedy's last game, however if I'd known that some people were paying up to $800 for two tickets I wouldv'e sold them in a heartbeat. :p
But I guess that's different as I didn't initally purchase the tickets with the sole intention to make a profit, and I wasn't a member. :p

Does anyone know when GF barcode ballot opens and how do I go about it. I have 4 seats at Optus will that entitle me to 4 GF seats?

In 2015 they opened up the week leading up to the prelims and cost $5 per barcode. 4 barcode = 4 entries. Just remember if it's a junior or concession membership then that's the type of ticket you get in the GF ballot.

Looking to get 2 x Priority 1 adult tickets in the GF Ballot - if anyone has Club 87, Blue & Gold Terrace, A Reserve, Victorian Platinum or Victorian Captain’s Club members barcodes they are not going to use please PM me so we can chat - will pay for the privilege (cash, paypal - whatever works) even if Eagles don't get that far.

Doing a family trip across the Nullabor anyway around GF time (kids will get in free) - only thing missing is 2 x tickets for the adults.

Thanks!
