Where did this notion that a contracted players value sky rockets? Youd be dreaming if you think a first round pick is warranted for a part time AFL footballer.
the answer is, why would the eagles let him go for anything less?

if he stays he is going to give it his all for next year, thats just the sort of player he is. if he goes back to vic next year and doesnt sign a longer contract, we will get a second rounder for him, at least. any suggestion otherwise is far-fetched and very unlikely.

im not saying the saints would or should give their first rounder for him, im asking why should the eagles let him go for anything less?

I refer back to my previous post

And just to add. Apparently Geelong have interest in Brown now also.. damn them trying to pry away a contracted player from another club.. who is he, Dawes or something?

I think you will find that the interest is trading there own Mitch Brown. I may be wrong though.

How do you know he will give his all? He might think screw the West Coast go through the motions all year then jump ship for nothing.

did you get that from the afl.com.au trade winds today? because i think that was referring to them trading away the other mitch brown, not trading in our mitch brown

besides the fact that he just won the best clubman award for his professionalism when not playing in the first team, its massively against his self-interest to do that. because after a miserable year there may not be any money or an opening for him at the saints or anywhere.

how about this, finger, name once when that has ever happened, and i might reconsider the probability of it actually happening to be above zero

A few Saints supporters think Goddard went through the motions this season knowing his contract was up & he'd walk.

Maybe that was awarded to him in the hope he'd hang around.

A heap of the Fitzroy boys did it. Played out there contract either with with 15 week hammys to make sure they got full senior match pays or just went through the motions.

WC fans thinking they will get pick 13 for Brown.....Is this real life? At least I'm getting a good laugh out of it.

If that's how highly the club rate him then that is the asking price.

Either pay it or don't pay it. There will be no 'he wants to come to us, pick 50 or PSD' for a contracted, required player.

Please stop acting like you make the deals for WC you are embarrassing yourself.

got any names there? of a player who was pissed off at not getting traded so waited a year then went into the PSD for nothing

brown is trying to move so he can play senior football, and you seem to think that he will voluntarily just give up that chance for a year by going through the motions, in the process harming his chance of getting another contract and the value of it.

honestly this seems like the only reason the eagles should trade mitch brown right now, and its just amazingly far fetched and unlikely to even consider

the vast majority of eagles fans think that brown will stay at west coast, because the saints wont trade pick 13

as i say, unless we get another KPD from somewhere, i doubt we will trade him for anything less than a great deal (not necessarily including pick 13, just a great deal)

I know for a fact Balwin did it. He knew Richmond would sign him so basically took the year off while still being paid.

more info needed, whats his first name? what year was it? which trade fell through and where was he picked up in the PSD?

The fact was he wanted out but Fitzroy forced him to stay. Richmond assured him they would take him the following year. If you can remember Fitzroys last few years youll remeber on paper there list was solid enough but the players where just looking to get out and played accordingly.
