That would give us pick 7,23,24,30, 50

If we trade the pick 50 for monfries, pick up Russell and jolly as a delisted free agents then I'll be very happy.

Goddard is definitely worth band 1. Two time all Australian utility held in very high regard who was offered a gigantic contract? If it is on an individual basis, then Pearce would be band 2 using this formula (former Rising Star winner offered a pretty damn big contract).

And thats how the compo is worked out using age, contact length and wage etc
And us only looking at a 2nd rounder plus around 3rd?

Spoke to a couple of essondon fans and they couldn't believe port would be even interested in monfries and slattery.. They reckon monfries is ok but both would be fringe players at best even on our list..

Capel has clearly been reading BF. I hope we'd get better compensation than a second and third rounder for Pearce and Chaplin - that would be awful.

These guys were pretty diehard fans I haven't seen much of monfries and well I was shocked to hear what they said about him considing the essondon faithful on here pumpin him up...I would rather take people's opinions at face value then on here... They did say monfries was ok...but said he wasn't something they would consider port needing or wanting...

But hey I don't know anything about either of them so I will wait

I have a feeling that with Callinan apparently being placed on the rookie list and Petrenko having shoulder problems, that the hybrids might snatch Monfries from us using the extra money now that Tippy has gone.
Of course, this will be seen as the greatest player steal of all time in the universe of sport history.

With the Tippett money being freed up, I'm sure they can afford better options than Monfries. That said, they could do it if they really feel they need a crumbing forward.

Monfries is good enough to play virtually every week for Port. Only really this year has he had any pressure on his spot at all. In 7 years. That says a bit IMHO, you don't play that much (for anyone) if you're a complete dud.

Whether he adds anything you don't have is well & truly debatable. But he's more than fringe.
