I don't care if we got a young team in... They've shown nothing!! Simpson looks like he doesn't care and the rest look like its round 23 and have had a hard season!!

Calm down mate, we are missing out best 5 players and our coach. The Eagles have a pretty strong team out there and their experienced midfielders are too strong

We were never going to win this game and the effort has been fine

It's only a pre season game
Interstate at that

But I have us as a bottom 4 team this year anyway

Shelve loftier expectations this season folks. You'll only be disappointed otherwise.

We will be shite.

Not much to take from the first half. Bell has been good, although a touch wasteful. Tuohy's found a bit of it, but has been inclined to just kick anywhere, Mitch Robinson-style. Cripps showing signs of how much of a beast he will be in the midfield. He will be nicely complemented by the likes of Murphy, Judd & Gibbs this season. Levi's work rate has been good however the blustery conditions aren't suiting him. Fields didn't look out of place in the first quarter, but didn't see much action in the 2nd quarter. Yaz has been the general in defence & looks primed for a very good season.

No surprise to see that the Eagles' leading ball winners have been Priddis, Ellis & Gaff. This game suits them perfectly.

On the downside, our tall forwards have had minimal impact due to the haphazard delivery into the forward line. You somehow suspect they might fare better if they had the likes of Murphy, Gibbs & Judd delivering the ball to them.

I'm not sure how it looks to those watching at the ground, but Graham's work rate seems to be way down from what we are seeing on TV. Tonight's game is tailor-made for him however he has been quite disappointing.

You are all so critical. The kids are playing in a team full of other kids. Not gonna be able to play like superstars with out decent support. I think its fantastic westcoast has played a strong side. Shows the young fellas what to expect if they manage to get a call up through out the season.

If you think Whiley and the other coaches are happy Doc, Bucks and Graham have failed to step up when given the opportunity then you're completely deluded

These games are about seeing which young players have improved . How else are we supposed to get better??

Cripps has been very good
Bell has been great but still has issues with poise , But he's light years ahead of Graham

Boekhorst hasn't been terribly good
I'd like to see Rainbow given a go now

Pretty uninspiring start to the season really, even if it is just a NAB Challenge game where we weren't likely to win. Yarran has been class, Bell has done some really nice things and some really shit things and Cripps has had a bit of the ball, other than that there's not too many positives to take out of the first half. Hopefully a better showing in the second but I'm not holding my breath.

Its not about winning, you seriously reckon the effort has been there? Geez were in trouble if that's the case...

he has burned the ball most of the game and turned it over on more than a few occasions. just because he has been getting a lot of it doesn't mean he has been good. He needs to apply the KISS principle...keep it simple instead of trying to dart away from every pack and find targets laterally as opposed to bombing it to eagles defenders

Holy shit calm down!

It's been one half and you're already knocking the young players for not having their best games? Jesus christ.
It's the whole team... Hawthorn had a younger team but at least showed something!!

i think sometimes he wins it but there is no options to properly give it to, so he blazes away with a long kick

Personally I am not sold on Doc

He can run but....he also squibbed it numerous times last year

He is stil young so I'll give him that but this game he has not shown any heart at all

So nothing I have seen from him this game has changed my view about him being a bit flaky

Hope I am wrong, and I do repeat he is young at 21 so still has a lot of time but seriously needs to grow a pair soon
