Think the comments are a bit OOT.

Cal said he still thinks its more likely than not that Mitchito last til after 20, and noone has had Windhager earlier than 20 either.

I understand that some clubs may see them in that 15-20 range, but the evenness of the draft means that its also likely players they rate at 10-15 may still be there in the late teens.

Regardless, all we can do as a club is make sure we have the draft capital to get them in if they are bid at 20 and 21, and that includes making sure we keep our future 2nd so that any outstanding points don't take away from next years first rounder.

I rate Windhager the higher of the two anyway. Owens played a couple of good games on a wing and the middle but his form is a lot less exposed and he's a bit of a projection like Alison was.

Saints just completed at 4way trade. Got 62 66 and the crows forth. Not sure what we gave up but I hope it wasn’t much

Think we gave up a late 40's pick, once the Pies and Dogs picks get chewed up it gives us a few more points

Well done to Gags on the pick trade. We're perfectly placed to grab both Owens and Windy now. Lock it in.
If they are bid in the 20’s-early 30’s though we’re still gonna need at least another 2 3rd round picks unless we take a deficit into next years draft.

The first column was for 2020. So if we match for pick 21, 197 points off would make us able to take the player for the points value of pick 27 (so 6 pick discount). Matching at the end of the second round, pick 40, would able us to take the player for the equivalent of pick 53 (a 13 pick discount).

Matching after pick 40 gets a bit silly. Once a player is bid on past pick 40, you match with your next pick. So we could match an NGA player taken at pick 40 with the points making up pick 53, but if an NGA player is taken one pick later at 41 and our next actual pick is at 45 we would have to use that pick instead of points for a pick 54. It doesn't seem right, but that's how it reads.

Yeah, hopefully that happens. You could just live trade any useful pick to a future potentially.

The deal does gain us an extra pick next year. So yes net points is up, but net points in 2021 could still be a negative. Maybe a slight positive

But in terms of getting the NGA boys this year I am not sure it helps as 49 also goes up in points as picks get used.

So hopefully say all that is needed to get Xerri who has now asked to be traded to us. We may still be low on points though if our out NGA's get nominated too early.

How many picks will Darcy and Daicos consume?

I don't understand how that gets us the Nga boys?
If they are bid in the 20s?
I don’t understand how you don’t understand?
Assuming the picks move up following Daicos and Darcy bids, the discount we get and we can move back picks next year. As long as they’re not bid on in the top 20 then we can take them without issue
it’s not that hard

Melbourne grabbing pick 17 worries me.

Why would we want to take a deficit into next year if we want to try and get Ben King next trade period? Doesn’t make sense.

We still probably have 2 firsts and a second if we want to trade that much. If this particular pie in the sky is what we want to throw it all at.
Our deficit doesn't hit our 1st unless we have exhausted all others i think.

So are we expecting to only take the NGA guys? Is the pick 9 going towards them?
